M.Lib.I.Sc at Galgotias University Offline Course

Program Overview: The MLIS programme aims at preparing the skilled workforce to work in the rapidly changing information environment to meet the user requirements in the changing scenario following the professional values and principles, innovative practices and preparing them to be life-long learners and active service leaders. The general objective of this programme is to contribute to building of professional human resources to meet the varied demands for information handling in libraries and information centres in the country.

After the completion of this program, expected outcome as follows:

1. Know the knowledge of the information profession by relating foundational principles, philosophy, and ethics to contemporary issues, by identifying key, and by analysing current practices for future implications of the profession.
2. Identify, explain, use and critically evaluate both current and emerging information technologies in libraries and information centres.
3. Understand the research by identifying the fundamental characteristics of quantitative and qualitative research and by analysing the value of research literature in the library and information field.
4. Develop a commitment to continuous learning by participating in local, regional, national and international professional development opportunities.
5. Create, select, acquire, organize, manage, and maintain the information by analyzing users’ behabiour and requirement.
