B.Des M.Des Fee Structure
The fees charged for pursuing an integrated B.Des M.Des programme vastly varies from institute to institute. On an average, a student may have to pay anywhere from Rs. 15 lakhs to even Rs. 40 lakhs for the course. B.Des M.Des Admission Process
Candidates will have to appear for a B.Des M.Des entrance exam to get admission in most colleges; however, exceptions exist wherein simply on the basis of 10+2 marks, candidates will be granted admission. The main purpose of the admission test is to test a candidate’s basic design knowledge. Aspirants must brush up on their freehand drawing skills and theoretical knowledge of design. The test will be conducted in three stages –
Written Test – This is a nationwide test that will be conducted to test the creative aptitude of the candidate.
Studio Test – Shortlisted candidates may advance to this stage; however, this test is not conducted by all institutes. Here, students will be given problems to which they need to come up with intelligent and creative design solutions.
Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) – Here, candidates will need to take part in healthy debates on design and a panel of evaluators will oversee and judge based on the candidate’s performance.
Those who are shortlisted will then be invited for a counselling session after which the first semester will begin.
B.Des M.Des Entrance Examination

UCEED: UCEED is conducted by IIT Bombay. UCEED stands for Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design. It is a national level design entrance examination. It is conducted every year in 25 cities including an international test centre.
NID DAT: NID DAT is the abbreviated name of the National Institute of Design Design Aptitude Test. It is a national level design examination conducted to provide admissions in B.Des. and M.Des. programmes in NID campuses.
