About GCET 2019

GCET 2019 will be conducted by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa for admission to B.E. and B.Pharm programmes as offered by the participating institutes of the entrance exam. However, admission to B.Arch programme under GCET 2019 will be on the basis of candidates’ valid scores in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). The application form of GCET 2019 will be available in the first week of April tentatively which candidates will have to download, fill and submit in person or through post on or before the last date. It is important that candidates first check the eligibility criteria of GCET 2019 before they proceed to fill the application form. The admit card of GCET 2019 will be released only for successfully registered candidates from first to fourth week of April tentatively. The entrance exam of GCET 2019 will be conducted in offline mode on May 7 for Physics (10 am to 12 pm) and Chemistry (2 pm to 4 pm) respectively and on May 8 for Mathematics (10 am to 12 pm) for which candidates will have to prepare from the prescribed syllabus of GCET 2019 following the exam pattern. The result of GCET 2019 will be announced in online mode by the authorities in the second week of May tentatively. On the basis of scores obtained, GCET 2019 merit list will be prepared. For admission, candidates will have to participate in counselling for which they will have to register and fill their choices. The allotment of seats in the participating institutes will be done on the basis of candidates’ merit, choice filling and seat availability.

GCET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

GCET BE

The eligibility criteria of GCET 2019 will be prescribed by DTE, Goa. Candidates applying will have to fulfil GCET 2019 eligibility criteria for their application forms to be accepted. Candidates will have to adhere to the following parameters under GCET eligibility criteria 2019:

B.E./ B. Pharmacy

Nationality: Only Indian nationals are eligible to appear in GCET 201    9 exam. Non-resident Indians holding Indian passport can also apply for seats reserved under NRI category. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) / Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders will also be considered eligible for admissions to seats under NRI Category. 

Age: There is no age limit specified for admission to Engineering and Pharmacy Courses.

Qualifying Exam: Candidates applying must have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate (10+2) Examination of the Goa Board or equivalent exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, or any other examination. Candidates who have passed, or are appearing in HSSC,10+2 or equivalent exam before the start of the academic session will also be eligible to appear in GCET 2019.

Subject Combination & Minimum Marks: Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate examination of the Goa Board or equivalent exam with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with any one of the following subjects Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/ Computer Science/ Biology with minimum 45% marks in aggregate in Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/ Computer Science/ Biology. Candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC categories need to have 40% for the same criteria.

Reserved Categories: Candidates claiming seats in the reserved category of SC/ST/OBC will be required to submit their caste certificate in the prescribed proforma from the Competent Authority. In case of the required certificate not been enclosed with the form, their application will be considered for the General Category only.

For Kashmiri Migrants: Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate examination or equivalent examination with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects -  Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology and obtained minimum 45% marks in Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology.

GCET B.Arch

The eligibility criteria of GCET 2019 will be prescribed by DTE, Goa. Candidates applying will have to fulfil GCET 2019 eligibility criteria for their application forms to be accepted. Candidates will have to adhere to the following parameters under GCET eligibility criteria 2019:

Nationality: Only Indian nationals are eligible to appear in GCET 201    9 exam. Non-resident Indians holding Indian passport can also apply for seats reserved under NRI category. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) / Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders will also be considered eligible for admissions to seats under NRI Category. 

NATA: Candidates need to have a valid score in NATA entrance exam as conducted by COA.

Qualifying Exam: Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate exam of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects and secured minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% aggregate marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC). OR

Candidates must have done 10+3 Diploma (any stream) passed/ appearing recognized by Central/State Govts with 50% aggregate marks with Mathematics. OR

Candidates must have completed International Baccalaureate Diploma after 10 years of schooling, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory exam subject.

GCET B.Pharm

The eligibility criteria of GCET 2019 will be prescribed by DTE, Goa. Candidates applying will have to fulfil GCET 2019 eligibility criteria for their application forms to be accepted. Candidates will have to adhere to the following parameters under GCET eligibility criteria 2019:

The application form of GCET 2019 will be made available by DTE, Goa authorities in the first week of April tentatively. Candidates must note that there will be three forms – A, B & C; of which Form A has to be filled by those who wants to appear in GCET 2019 exam for admission to B.E. & B.Pharm programmes only. For those who want to apply for B.Arch programme, they will be required to fill Form C. Candidates will have to first download the form as available on the website, take a print out of it, fill it and submit it on or before the last date at notified locations as per Centre opted.

How to fill GCET application form?

  • First of all, candidates will have to download the application form of GCET 2019 and take its print     out in A4 size paper (the print out has to be of good quality)     
  • Following it, candidates will be required to fill their valid personal, academic and communication details. 
  • Candidates will have to fix their recent photograph in the space provided. 2 additional photographs have to be enclosed by the candidates.
  • It is to be noted that the name of the candidate should be in capital letters and same as it appears on SSC/ HSSC certificate. Candidates should enter their date of birth as mentioned in Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE)     certificate. The postal code and address also have to be submitted by the candidates in the application form.
  • During form filling, candidates will have to get a Demand Draft made of Rs. 1800 which is the application fee in favor of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji - Goa, on any Scheduled Bank.
  • Candidates will have to send the filled application form along with a Demand Draft and three identical photographs as indicated, and other specified certificates (self-attested photocopies) to obtain the Photo-Admit Card from the Admission Committee to obtain the Acknowledgement Card, with registration number, as proof of submission of the form to the following address:

It is to be noted that enclosures of NATA/ CBSE results, if not available by specified date of submission, due to non-declaration of results have to be submitted within 8 days of declaration of these results.

Candidates appearing in GCET 2019 must know of the number and type of questions asked, language in which they will be asked, time duration given to them in the exam and marking scheme of the exam. All this information will be released by the authorities under the exam pattern of GCET 2019.

However, candidates will also be able to collect the admit card from DTE Goa with late fees. Candidates will be required to carry the GCET admit card 2019 to the exam centre allotted as entry without it will be restricted.

Candidates must note that exam centre code should be correctly entered while application form filling only because any request for change in choice of papers and/or centre selected/ allotted will not be entertained after issue of the Admit Card. The Admission Committee will allot exam centres depending on the  availability of accommodation at the centres.  

GCET B.Pharm

DTE, Goa will announce the result of GCET 2019 in both online and offline mode in the second week of May tentatively. the availability from the official website and from the notice board of DTE. However, no individual score card will be issued.  On the basis of scores, GCET 2019 merit list will be prepared by the authorities. Separate provisional merit lists will be prepared and displayed released.

For B.E., merit list will be prepared based on GCET 2019 scores.

GCET B.Arch

The merit list for B.Arch. programme will be prepared based on NATA scores of the candidates. Therefore, it is important for candidates to appear in NATA and have valid scores.

GCET B.Pharm

The counselling of GCET 2019 will be conducted by DTE, Goa in offline mode in three rounds. To be able to participate in GCET 2019 counselling, candidates will have to register for same. They will be required to again fill and submit the counselling form (Form A) in person at the DTE office. Upon submission, an acknowledgement card will be generated which candidates will have to keep safely. Candidates will have to be present in person at the Admission Centre at the time of GCET counselling 2019 along with their acknowledgement card, original documents & fees. Candidates present for counselling will have an opportunity to choose a seat of his or her own choice according to merit.

The seat allotment will be done according to candidates’ merit, specified choices and availability of seat. 

Candidates who will be allotted seat during any round of counselling will have to report to the institution allotted within 3 working days and obtain acknowledgement, otherwise their admission will be cancelled. 

GCET 2019 Selection Process

GCET BE

For selection, candidates will have to appear in GCET 2019 exam and need to have a valid score in the exam too. GCET score of the previous years will not be valid.

Along with this, candidates also need to fulfil other eligibility criteria of GCET 2019 as officially prescribed.

GCET B.Arch

For selection, candidates will have to appear in NATA 2019 exam and need to have a valid score in the exam too.

Along with this, candidates also need to fulfil other eligibility criteria of GCET 2019 as officially prescribed.

GCET B.Pharm

For selection, candidates will have to appear in GCET 2019 exam and need to have a valid score in the exam too. GCET score of the previous years will not be valid.

Along with this, candidates also need to fulfil other eligibility criteria of GCET 2019 as officially prescribed.
