Dear Nitin, you must have heard 'Pen is mightier than the sword'. True and it even can be tweaked as 'Pen earns more than a stethescope'. Now coming to the numbers, how many journalists really earn that money? And do all of them get their due fame? Journalism and Medicine are too different professions. They are apples and oranges. Their scope is different and their objectives are too different. In a world of click and you have everything, becoming a journalist is not difficult. What has become difficult is qualifying amongst 15 lakhs students for a seat in 500 medical colleges across India is difficult. Being one of the medical students among 50,000 students is difficult. A MBBS doctor who has just got his license cannot earn right away a huge amount. Practise and experience makes him/her a reputed doctor earning him fame and money. We cannot go into numbers because no one displays their paycheck in public but you cannot compare jpurnalism to medicine and their paychecks.
