If we compare CSE and ECE then surely ECE is having more government jobs opportunities comparatively. There are many government jobs please do only ask dost candidate to be graduate but other government jobs as well like IES, GATE and PSU  where ECE students are more preferred when compared.

If you are interested in government job after engineering and go for ECE department.

Both branches have vast number of government colleges. But only you have required skills and knowledge. Whatever branch of engineering you do, do it with passion and get skills not only marks.
