Good evening, I am doing B. Pharma right now and want to study in canda for my masters, can someone please guide me on how can I get admission for M. Pharma course in Canada? Will I need to give some special exam like USMLE for admission? Thank you
Hello!
Yes you can move to Canada for M .Pharma course after completing B.Pharma from India. But first of all, you will have to qualify a english proficiency test like IELTS/Toefl as english is not your first language. Then, you have to get high score(about 320) in GRE to apply to Canadian Universities. Keep in mind, to already have some work experience(about 2-3 years) as a pharmacist in India before applying to these universities.
Then the next step is to get your Indian B.Pharma degree verified by the the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC). Then give the PEBC certifying exam in Canada and attain a license as a pharmacist.
You dont have to appear USMLE, it is only for International Medical graduates(i.e for MBBS graduates) in USA. For B.Pharma graduates, you have to appear the PEBC certification exam in Canada.
Hope this helps!
GRE stands for Graduate Record Examinations. The result card of GRE is used to apply for Masters/MBA or PhD program for different courses in universities in countries like USA, Canada and UK. GRE exam is a broad assessment of your critical thinking, analytical writing, verbal reasoning, and quantitative reasoning skills. The only hard part in GRE for Indian students would be analytical writing for which you should start preparing from your third year of B.Pharm. The quant part of GRE is easy as it only tests your skills in really basic math problems(8th to 10th standard level maths). You can find sample papers for GRE, IETS and Toefl online. The earlier you prepare, less is the no.of attempts.
