Reason behind so high donation - Majority of people ready to pay such huge amounts and more are basically rich industrialists and big business-magnets from the Kongu-region. 

If you have sports quota then there is good chances of less donation, else you have to pay the asked donation...

The donation fee for a mechanical engineering seat through management quota at P.S.G. College of Technology,Coimbatore is around 20 Lakhs (rough estimation)

Last year it was 25 Lacs..!!

Also you can take many things into account, it depends what type of person you're, if you're rich they will ask you even more..!!
