I am very confused about Cut off. What is exactly "Cut off"? For some courses it is in 500 and even 800...but the maximum marks are 360 right? Please clarify.

Hello Aspirant,

Cut-off is the margin line for qualifying any exam. Let us understand it from an example,

You are appearing in an exam of maximum marks 360 now cut-off declared by conducting authorities is 180, so you need to score 180 or more in that exam otherwise you will not qualify the exam. Sometime authorities also release the cut-offs in form of rank which means that if you secure rank less than Or equal to that cut-off than you will qualify the examination.
