It's a very good thought that you do not want to waste a year. Kudos to you for having that clarity that many of the students are not having at a similar stage.

Now coming to continuing your 12th standard by a private board, nothing would matter till you have a valid and legitimate board exam and result. Apart from that, continue with your preparation of JEE alongside.
