Is Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai recognised by the UGC?
Under Section 3 of the UGC Act, the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai, is recognised as a Deemed University. IGIDR was established as a public trust in January 1987 and as an autonomous organisation on November 14, 1986. Former Indian Prime Minister Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi inaugurated the campus on December 28, 1987. Researchers from many academic disciplines who work in various fields are employed by the Institute.
