Yes NEET is mandatory for every student dreaming to becoming a doctor. Medical college fills their seat only the basis of NEET SCORE i.e according to merit which makes on the basis of your NEET SCORE.
Neither NEET nor medical college in which you are taking admission will give admission on the basis of intermediate marks.
The marks of intermediate comes only eligibility criteria ,when you will fill application form of NEET.

Dear Raamish, NEET is the entrance examination for admission into Medical, Dental and Ayush colleges across India. Now even if you want to study Medicine abroad, appearing for NEET is mandatory. And just to answer your question, NEET is mandatory and your 12th marks alone cant get you a Medicine seat .  But there are Management Quota seats which charge a huge amount.

The neet is very important to get into the medical college there will be no admission through the 12th class percentage
But there is another way that is management qouta that is very expensive
So according to my knowledge neet is very important for Medical college
