Hello there,

Yes, your son, as an OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) cardholder, is eligible to appear for KCET 2025 as he has completed his education in Karnataka . Since there is no separate OCI category in the KCET form, he can apply under the General Category (assuming he meets all other eligibility criteria).

Here are the steps for clarification:

  1. Eligibility: Since he has completed 12th grade in Karnataka, he is considered a domicile of Karnataka .

  2. Category: As there is no specific category for OCI candidates in KCET, he will be considered under the General (Unreserved) category for admissions, unless you qualify for any special reservations based on other criteria (like caste, etc.).

  3. Documents: While filling the KCET application, make sure to mention that he holds an OCI card and provide the necessary documents (like the OCI card, proof of education, etc.) as required.

Thus, he should be eligible to apply for KCET under the General category . You may want to check the official KCET 2025 brochure for any updates or clarifications on OCI-specific guidelines.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Being an OCI cardholder, if your son has finished all his education from pre-primary school to 12th grade in Karnataka, then he is eligible to take KCET 2025 according to the Karnataka government. The Karnataka government has stated that all the OCI cardholders should be treated as citizens of India for the purpose of professional courses in Karnataka. Your son should apply under "GENERAL MERIT."

How about admission to mbbs for oci students who studied in karnataka? Will they be considered under general category? For govt colleges and for private colleges? What fee structure will be applicable will they have to pay NRI fee?
Thank-you
