But if you are sure you can prepare along with the college curriculum and fees is not an issue, then you should go for it. Otherwise you can drop the whole year and prepare only for the entrance exam.

Normally partial dropper refers to a student who prepares for an entrance exam while studying in another course or college. For example, an student is studying in some engineering college and he is also preparing for JEE exam.
You could take partial drop but it could be very hectic as it is difficult to Manage college studies and Exam preparation simultaneously. College Study itself is very tedious task to do. So getting successful in partial drop depends on student , how well he/she can manage this study load.
