What is the height requirements for girls to join afmc according latest recruitment. Is there any relaxation for south india?
Hello
The height required is 152 and unfortunately there is no relaxation for South Indians.
For preparation you can rely on career 360 for pyq and guides .
Thankyou.
To join AFMC as a female candidate, you must qualify NEET UG, meet the academic eligibility in PCB with English, and also satisfy the physical standards.
The minimum height required for girls is generally 152 cm , along with overall medical fitness as per AFMC guidelines.
At present, there is no officially notified relaxation specifically for candidates from South India.
Therefore, you should follow the standard requirements unless AFMC releases a new update stating otherwise.
For AFMC admission, every candidate has to clear the medical standards prescribed by the Armed Forces. For girls, the minimum height requirement is generally around 144 cm, which is considered the acceptable lower limit for maintaining physical fitness and future training in the Armed Forces Medical Services. Along with height, other checks like weight proportional to height, vision standards, spine condition, hearing and general physical fitness are also assessed during the medical exam.
Regarding relaxation, AFMC does not give any separate height relaxation based on regional background such as South India. The only relaxations normally approved in defence medical rules are for candidates from specific Northeastern and hilly regions because their average height is naturally lower and this is recognised in the official standards. For all other states, including those from the southern part of India, the same minimum height of about 144 cm applies.
If you meet the height requirement and are otherwise medically fit, you can apply confidently. AFMC focuses more on NEET score, merit rank, academic performance and medical fitness rather than region-based criteria. All the best.
Hello
The minimum height required for girls to join AFMC is 152 cm as per the latest medical standards. There is relaxation for candidates belonging to Hilly, North-Eastern, Gorkha and certain Tribal regions, where the minimum acceptable height is 147 cm. Girls who are below 18 years of age may also get up to 2 cm growth allowance. However, all candidates must still satisfy the AFMC weight-for-height chart, general medical fitness norms, and physical standards prescribed by the medical board.
