Ya for sure .....one of my brother appeared in 12th as a private candidate and currently he is pursuing btech in NIT Raipur.
But you need to keep (top twenty percentile/or 75%)

So was that the improvement exam that he appeared for as a private candidate or after failing in 12th he appeared as a private candidate
