Course overview
Every consumer knows the price of the food items he/she purchases and consumes every day. But what they do not know is why these items cost as much as they do, and why the same product’s price varies from one country to the next. Several factors determine this price, but perhaps the most critical factor is the country’s Agricultural Policy. If you want to learn about the Caribbean and Latin American countries’ agricultural policies, take the AGRIMONITOR course by edX.
With the AGRIMONITOR programme, you will learn how to use the AGRIMONITOR, a database that contains information about 24 Latin American and Caribbean countries. The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) created this database and updates it from time to time. Using the AGRIMONITOR, you can analyse and compare the Agricultural Policies in the Caribbean and Latin American countries.
With the AGRIMONITOR training, you will also learn how these policies affect food security, regional competitiveness, and even climate change. You can learn all this and more by studying just six to eight hours a week. The course spans over five weeks.
