Climate Change Education

Climate Change Education course will guide the teachers to help their students learn in detail about the various facades of climate change and the issues related to it. In the Climate Change Education training, the applicants will engage in various interactive assignments and activities that will help them build a strong base in the sector of climate change.

The ten week session will thoroughly guide the participants in the global crisis and help them formulate strategies and plans to overcome the ongoing crisis. The students will get to explore the fundamentals and rudimentary science behind climate change and will also engage in learning about all the tools that will help fight it in the Climate Change Education by edX course.

The session has incorporated video games and lesson plans to help the enrolled candidates bring considerable change within their school community. The way to formulate plans and mitigate policies will also be imparted to all the candidates. This is a self-paced programme and it can be pursued by the learner in two different options; paid and free. Data for Effective Policy Making

In the Data for Effective Policy Making certification course, enrolled candidates will learn to use, understand and analyze information. The course will help candidates improve their decision-making process using "growth statistics" and "Caribbean data gateway" platforms, which present data and socio-economic indicators from the Caribbean region and Latin America.

After completing the course, the applicants will gain knowledge about tools for data navigation, simulation, and interpretation of visualization. They will also understand how to apply different types of data analysis based on the policies that are implemented. The course is built on real-life experiences to help students get an easy, realistic, and enjoyable understanding of various ideas and methods. Through various useful activities, candidates will learn to apply their acquired knowledge and use graphs and data. Leaders in Citizen Security and Justice Management

The increasing rates of violence and crime are the two main challenges that the Caribbean and Latin American countries face. That’s why there’s a growing need of prioritising citizen security over other agendas. It is essential to have a society educated in social rights and law's nuances to make informed policies. To achieve this effect and impart the necessary knowledge, edX has developed the Leaders in Citizen Security and Justice Management online course, in collaboration with Inter-American Development Bank.

The Leaders in Citizen Security and Justice Management training covers both the theoretical and practical concepts of citizen security and how justice policies are carried out in the South American region. The programme also goes through crime deterrence, social rehabilitation of prisoners, law enforcement, and crime judicialization. It is expected that this law programme will develop awareness within authorities, academics, public officials, journalists, and civil society regarding citizen justice.

The Leaders in Citizen Security and Justice Management certification course was jointly developed by IDB and the consortium of John Jay College of Criminal Justice, FADISMA in Brazil, and the universities of Chile. This 10-week programme is a self-paced one, which requires 3-4 hours of diligent study every week. You can also add a verified certificate if you wish to improve your credentials or look for jobs in the social science field. By enrolling to any one of the tracks namely verified and audit the students may learn the programme. During the audit track, learning is free for a limited time period whereas during the verified track learning is unlimited but paid.

What Works in Education Evidence- Based Education Policies

What Works in Education: Evidence-Based Education Policies online course will enable the applicants to work in the sector of education and develop the techniques to analyze, identify and implement the various education policies. The course will be providing practical research opportunities and case studies in the education systems of the Caribbean and Latin America.

The What Works in Education: Evidence-Based Education Policies by edX has structured the course as introductory for all the applying applicants. The course has been structured to provide the applicants with five principal features for establishing a successful education institute.

Furthermore, the ten-week session will allow the students to opt for an “audit track” allowing the enrolled students to pursue the What Works in Education: Evidence-Based Education Policies certification course for free. in the audit track, the students can access the course for a limited duration. With the AGRIMONITOR training, you will also learn how these policies affect food security, regional competitiveness, and even climate change. You can learn all this and more by studying just six to eight hours a week. The course spans over five weeks.
