To start with, the best block in VIT is M block. Followed by N block .

But those two blocks are allotted only for the freshers. After your first year, you have to sit for hostel counselling.

The below answer is only for students who have opted mechanical/civil (SMEC).For the students in SMEC, I can assure the best block suited for you is A-block.

  1. It is very near to MB, GDN ( SMEC- building). You can start as late as 7:55 for your 8′o clock morning class.
  2. A-block was recently renovated, given it was the first one constructed in VIT.
  3. 4-BED AC/NON-AC rooms in A-block are the most demanded ones, since they have a separate study room. Most of the 3rd and 4th year students, opt for these rooms, ideal for study and preparation for competitive exams, since they won’t be having any disturbances.
