VIT- A place to learn, a chance to grow.

VIT is one of the best private colleges currently in India. If you are looking for an overall development, decent education, unlimited opportunities, skill development, decent placements and a sustainably fun college life from a college, VIT is the place. I experienced a huge change in my life going through these years in VIT. If you possess a talent then it won't go waste. You have all the opportunity to enhance yourself in any field. I was very introvert and self absorbed before joining the college. But the atmosphere of the college, the companionships at the hostel changed everything in no time. I can feel that VIT has made a better person of me and I hope I come out of the college as the best version of myself.

Well my experience was pretty good except for the placements part. Vit is a great place. You've got good faculties, infrastructure and exposure to a lot of things. One can choose their own class timings and faculties under whom they want to complete courses which is subject to availability. It was a great experience managing time table

VIT is a very good institute to study engineering, infrastructure is awesome and better than other government colleges also the hostels are pretty good, you should consider it if you are getting the branch of your choice, the faculties here are pretty dedicated they give marks according to what you have written correctly in the exam and they are unbiased, the labs here are highly equipped with the latest infrastructure. There are projects in almost every subject which help you in doing the final capstone project, Also FFCS system helps you to choose your own faculty, your own slots. Also, there are numerous clubs and chapters in VIT which further help in personality development and help us learn new things ...... Thank you

VIT has an amazing infrastructure and ample amount of opportunities for every aspects of career. Unlike what people expect, it's cost is pretty cheap in the first two fee categories. The hostel and mess are amazing and regularly well maintained. All the teaching faculty have a PhD in their field of teaching which ensures you learn from people who have in depth knowledge of what they are teaching. There are a lot of sports and recreational facilities both inside and outside the college. The only two suggestions I have are to firstly allow students to take leave more easily, preferably on their own because college students are expected to be mature adults. Secondly to allow students to keep a vehicle in a paid parking for off campus traversal. Definitely, the place you want to be if you're a CSE student with the challenging, executing and updated curriculum.

VIT -A Place to Learn, A Chance to Grow

Placements: Coming to the placements at VIT Vellore, it is awesome, and even we got a place in Limca book of records in the latest released records. We get more dream offers that is above six lacs per annum. Mainly for this branch, we'll have an additional benefit of the post graduation degree in the hands, so we had a great chance of placing in good companies. But it creates the problem when all the branches of VIT like Chennai, Bhopal, Amravati are dumped in Vellore for the placements, and you can't say hundred percent placement, but worthy ones will have many opportunities. Infrastructure: The infrastructure is awesome in VIT. It has its style of making up the things. There are the wonderful labs and good classrooms with the smart boards. The library is the main thing in the infrastructure we need to discuss, as it is amazing, which works 365 days and until midnight. The hostel rooms are average, and the food is super. Overall, the hostels are good. Faculty: I can't say that all the faculty members are knowledgeable, but there is staff, who can teach the best in India. Overall, the teaching quality is good, and we usually get the industrial visits, which backs our understanding. The student to faculty ratio is 20:1, and one teacher called as proctor for 20 proctee(students), will be assigned for total the period of course. FFCS system is superb and flexible and can say that it is the most liked attribute of VIT curriculum by all the VITians. The flexible credit system is helpful. Other: If you want to talk about the fests, no other university in India can beat with VIT, Vellore. Riviera the cultural fest of VIT is in the top 5 fests in India. The campus crowd is big, and it is broader, who came from the different parts of India and even from the different countries across the globe. Merit will be getting the scholarship after completing the first semester.

VIT is one of the best Engineering colleges in India. Besides it's bad reviews about culture, it has a world wide reputation and it's a place where you can telecast your knowledge practically. You can have an international exposure and you have many clubs to participate in. VIT is known for it's Placements. You can show your talents in other activities like sports etc. And finally I conclude that VIT is the best place that a student can develop their skills, and make themselves a pro in their respective field or in their field of interest.

VIT includes students from the entire country and even abroad. The diverse pool of students along with the ample opportunities give a lot of peer based leaening incentives to us students. The FFCS system allows us to choose our own courses and timings and faculty. It really is very flexible. The placement are really good, especially for software related branches. Companies offer saries fro. 3-30 lpa. The fests are also pretty decent.

VIT has the best infrastructure in india and its placement rate is also high. VIT is the only university to get a 4 star rating from QS (an international ranking agency), and it also been adjudged "university of the year 2016" by the coporate body FICCI. talking about infrastructure we have smart boards and also we give our examinations on digital pads which minimise the use of papers to large extent because we believe in eco-friendly mantra. we are many exposures to industries and also we are allowed to interact to many celebs of different and ask our doubts and gain an oral exposure of corporate sector. instead of just studying we are allowed to sart any project work we are interested which can later become our own start up and university also helps to finance it. also our hostels are well equipped with all amenties like different types of mess for people around the globe, we have different study rooms and also some rooms specifically made for the workshops or experiments. we are given free wifi facilities which is renewed every month for free, even whole campus is equipped with wifi and good speed .

I came to this college with great hopes and dreams. But as usual no college will be in the expected range. But if u come to this University u come to know many good things not about the college but about ur life. Such as how to develop ur personality in life, financial freedom. About faculty in the very first year u won't get good faculty not the year goes on u will get the best.ok guys for sure u won't regret by joining this college rather u will be proud because no local college in India provide this kind of great things. Well join this college but in a good branch. Don't close branch shouting to ur rank

This is college which is criticized as well as praised in the equal amounts. The student in here also feel the same about it. But its takes a very good college to get the tag of 2nd best private college in India. The education system is quite at par and so is the exposure. The hostels and campus has outstanding infrastructure. There is enough faculty to look after your skill devlopment. The thing that you are studying in a city specially moulded for engineering college and the fact you have atleast around 10000 engineering students make you go crazy at times. But the placement at the end will satisfy that craziness and also undoubtedly the best campus college life without doubt.

VIT University, as stated 'a place to learn, a chance to grow', completely proves so. A deemed university with the only one in India to have a 4-star QS ranking and ideal location between Chennai and Bangalore has world class infrastructure with all facilities a student or faculty can dream of. There are numerous academic buildings for different branches with equipped labs having the latest machinery and updated technology. The university also initiates new startups and fests to be conducted in and outside the campus. Hostel is the place where an individual feels homely. VIT hostels offer high quality hospitality with spacious rooms of all types(single bed, double bed, triple bed, four bed,six bed) with both AC and Non-AC facilities and considerable fee difference. The university has approx. 17 boys' and 6 girls' hostels. Hostels have 24*7 water and electricity supply with clean toilets and hot water facility. Most of the hostels have a ground within, to play and a shop for items for daily use. Televisions and washing machines are also provided for convenience. Faculties and students, all come from diverse backgrounds and enjoy and mingle with one another's culture. Most of the staff is doctorate in their prestigious fields. Most of the faculties enjoy taking students to industrial visits, provide assignments etc. Also various internship offers are offered in the campus. Placements are all branch oriented. Almost all students from CSE and IT background get placed in core companies. Around 50% of EEE, ECE and EIE get placed and only a section of Mechanical and Civil students get this opportunity. Not to lose hope, almost every VITian gets a job in bulk placements' offering companies such as Wipro, Infosys etc. There are various paid courses offered in the campus to enhance one's co-curricular skills such as instruments, swimming, yoga etc. Moreover, there is a stadium and lake within the campus to enjoy evenings and weekends. Also, an indoor and outdoor gymnasium facility is available. There are three annual major fests organised in the campus i.e. technical, cultural and business fests in which students and staff from various colleges and universities inside and outside India pour in their knowledge and showcase their talents. Our academic system is world class. FFCS(fully flexible credit system) allows students to take their wished subjects and faculties along with their preferred timings keeping in mind certain rules and regulations. The Periyar EVR Central Library provides unlimited knowledge pertaining to subjects and topics worldwide. Overall, the university is 'a place to learn a chance to have fun a place to grow whatever you sow!!!'

VIT is known for its quality of engineering studies and research. Coming from bioscience background, the department is certainly well equipped to train you for the future. The faculty is very dedicated to motivate students to pursue higher studies and develop a critical mind to explore the area of research. Overall, the school is also reputed in achieving 100 % placements; almost every year. All big companies both national as well as international come for recruitment and VIT makes sure to hold seminars for guidance in interview process. For industrial exposure I remember my faculty taking us to the famous cheese factory in Kodai and it was quite impressive! I had a wonderful hostel life, the crowd is amazing and you learn to also develop your intercultural communication skills. The whole campus is like a small city, full of places to eat (awesome food)! Everything essential can be bought inside the campus or just outside the campus. If you are dedicated to studying engineering and would also like to have a good social life VIT is the place to be!

VIT Chennai : Immense talent, Endless opportunities

Batch of 2020 | B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering
Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai Campus is a branch of VIT, Vellore which started in 2010. Even though it is a side branch of VIT University the credibility of this college cannot be questioned as it has the best facilities and opportunities. VITC has an exceptional student crowd with immense talent. Most of the students belong to Category I (counseling) and are quite brilliant which makes the atmosphere here highly competitive. The faculty here is same as in any other good colleges; some are bad some are good but all of them provide a lot of encouragement for innovation. Thus, VITC gives the right opportunities to students who are interested in building phenomenal careers and helps them explore a myriad of academic and non-academic fields through fests, workshops, and guest lectures. The Fully Flexible Credit System is one of it's kind and enables students to choose faculties and design their timetable according to their own interests and convenience. One major drawback is that the atmosphere becomes rather too competitive and hectic and grades decide everything from room allotments to course selections. Students get highly over-worked attending endless classes, completing projects and meeting heavy-handed assignment deadlines. The campus is not very big but has all the necessary facilities; well-furnished hostel, an agreeable mess, gym, quintessential library, visa mart, food court, etc. But it lacks badminton courts , swimming pools, squash courts, book stores, laundry, etc. Also due to a small student population and campus it has almost no college life. So if you are looking forward to a fun college experience, VITC is not the place for you! Coming to placements, trends change every year but the college boasts of 100% placements EXCLUDING internships. It has over 400 recruiters from Core Engineering and Software companies who visit each year. The key to first-rate placements is a well-build resume , final year projects and soft skills. VITC is infamous for it's strict and unreasonable rules and one of the main reasons why students prefer MIT or SRM over VIT. The rules are harsher for girls and it's a shame that one of the leading colleges of India breeds such gruesome gender discrimination. As for the inevitable comparison between VIT Vellore and VITC, the only considerable difference is the student population and campus. VIT Vellore has a humongous and happening campus and a large and diverse population of students. Also there are comparatively more flexible rules. There are no credible statistics which show any difference in placements but it is a general opinion that the placements of Vellore campus are slightly better. Thus, VIT Chennai is a booming college with first-class facilities and opportunities and is a wonderful option for aspiring Science students.

It is a college which you can dream of in the years to come. One of the best colleges in the country. The faculty and the students both of them are experienced and helpful. The college fest is 3rd biggest in the entire nation. Moreover the hostel life is fun with few restrictions. The wide cultural diversity adds flavor to the four year stay at VIT. The college has nearly 100 clubs that conducts events on regular intervals. Its fun and a learning experience to be a part of VIT.

A place to learn, A chance to grow

Batch of 2019 | B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
I came to Vellore around two years ago from Delhi. It was to be my first experience away from home. Now, being a Delhiite, I always wanted the limelight and came with an impression and attitude like that which was shattered on the first day itself seeing all the boys around, so much competitive, so much better in every aspect of life. It was soon when the kid was wondering about the new world that was opened to him. Gotta admire the infrastructure here. Everything is so well planned. When me and my parents came for counselling, we were left in awe of the campus, so huge yet beautiful. As the days past by, it became horrendous walking in miles everyday with sun beating down on you to melt your bones away and then we ask ourselves, why is it so huge! Days past by, acquaintances became friends, friends became family and thats how the journey started. VIT doesn't have a closure that you are confined to learn in things related to your branch only. It's much more than that. There are numerous number of chapters and clubs that help one develop technically and personality wise both. One has to be a part of something or the other and that's what makes us different from other college students. Smart work with a hint of hard work is much appreciated over here. You get to put your leg in everything like public speaking, anchoring, hosting events, managing things, taking workshops, making projects, etc. That's what drives one's fear away. The rules are pretty strict over here and everything carries a fine. Well that's appreciated since, the managements' gotta handle around 20000 odd students over here. There is no shortage of faculties here too. The range goes from highly experienced to teachers still doing their project work. The sports faculties are pretty much better than other colleges if we compare. We have the best team in Basketball, Volleyball, Throwball and Badminton. The main point regarding the curriculum is VIT uses a method of FFCS (Fully Flexible Credit System). You get to chose your own subjects irrespective of your branch. It is a boon for the ones who wish to do something more and a bane for most since, people from other branches take the core subjects filling in the left seats. All in all, it's a huge and ever learning experience to be a part of, meeting people from every state of the country. One feels independent and the forces makes him/her thrive for more. -Sagar Goel A proud VITian

This college is like a mini India. It have students from all the cities of India and also from different countries. You can interact with person of different cultures and get to learn many things from them. The best part of this college is it's infrastructure. It have a huge campus with all the facilities like food cafe's, grocery store, hospital, student counselling, gym, different sports grounds etc. This college gives you a great exposure and in building up your personality. There are many clubs and international chapters which one can be a part of and do extra curricular activities. There are lot of opportunities to learn different skills rather than just studies. If someone is interested in research, the students are given full support by the faculties. Hostel have some drawbacks of tight rules on girls but then the hostel facilities like room, mess food all are better in comparison to other colleges. Coming to studies, some faculties are very good in teaching but due to ffcs (fully flexible credit system) you can land up with some partial faculties who give marks to only Tamilians. Language is a no barier here, as most of the people talk in English. Also in this huge crowd you will definitely find someone from your native place.

If you are looking for world class facilities and the ability to use them, you have come to the right place. VIT has very good lab facilities and students are encouraged to use them as much as they can for projects (there's a caveat here which i'll get to later) and other non-curricular activities. VIT is increasingly orienting itself to a more research focused college with CoE's and other interesting lab facilities coming up all over campus. There's also a conscious shift of focus from purely academic subjects to more research based learning. The experiment is in its initial stages and may yet fail, but its a step in the right direction. For all this shift of focus however, the majority of the faculty in VIT is mediocre at best. The professors know laughably little about the subjects they teach. More often than not, they refer books of foreign authors and teach the same concepts to students verbatim. If a student can parrot out the same stuff in the exams, full credit is awarded. There isn't much scope for learning. There are some faculty who are truly amazing, but its a select few and you'd be lucky to have any interaction with them in 4 years.

Vit is a place for fun, learning, action, activities, festival and lot more.Campus is more than 450 acres with Bangalore and Chennai being the closest metros. Although the fees of the college may be high but it is worth the experience so I would recommend everyone if you can afford around for like for a year by spending 5 to 6 lakh then you must surely choose this college. Crowd here at VIT is very good and people from all over the India speaking different languages meet and unite by being part of the university. The hostels are pretty good offering AC and non AC room at a reasonable price.

VIT is a blessing in disguise. The campus is awesome. The faculties are chill and make subject interesting. Good extracurriculars are pursued by many people. The college is liberal and is student friendly. I loved riviera more than gravitas though. HPVC, which is a big event was conducted recently in VIT. You'll love it.

The college infra is awesome. You wont get bored with the lectures. The faculties explain even intricate concepts well and in engaging way. The college lacks a bit in college placements but rest is ok. The mass recruiters are most prominent recruiters from Vit.

VIT made me a man who i am today. This university has prepared me to go outside and never fear from the challenges the world awaits. If you can handle VIT management well, you can handle any type of management in the world. Some rules by VIT management is ridiculous. I loved my stay and thank god i am going out finally.
