There are 3 type of PSUs - Maharatna,Navratna and Mini-ratna so I would suggest you to focus first on PSUs which are Maharatna and then try for others but basically salary depends on student's academics and how he/she performs in the interview. Also, to check the list of PSUs where you can apply and to know what to score for them you can go through the below link -
