This purely depends on the instructions you have been provided by the incharge or lecturer of that subject in particular. You haven't mentioned the Subject and topic of assignment. But, generally the content is what matters. If you write 50 pages but the content is not good, it's not worth 25 marks. If you write 25 pages, but good content on the topic, you get good marks. So, I would suggest, focus on the information you are providing and don't count the pages unless specified.
