Chandigarh University is a Deemed university. Which means that no colleges can be affiliated to CU but CU itself is affiliated to itself. A few similar universities like this include Thapar University , Chitkara University , LPU etc.
Chandigarh University is a private University, which means your degree will be affiliated by CU itself whereas Chandigarh group of colleges comes under PTU like many other colleges in Punjab. There is no drawback of studying into either of these college because at last the placement session is held together for all 3 of the campuses i.e. CGC (landran), CGC (jhanjeri) and chandigarh University (earlier known as CGC Gharuan).
Chandigarh University comes under CGC till 2012 but now its global university which has many tie ups with many international universities and there are no collage which comes under Chandigarh University now.

For engineering students ,They have to wear University formals on Wednesday . 4 days in a week you can wear causal. The authority doesn't allow you to the campus if you are not in uniform on Wednesday. And you Hotel management student I guess they have to wear uniform 5 day in a week (I am not sure although).
Chandigarh University has mandatory dress code only on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, B.E. students (both girls & boys) have to wear white shirt with stripped red color tie (available in university premises) and grey shade color pant. Though formal shoe are listed as mandatory with dress code, but no one focus or care much about shoes.
In winters, dark blue(navy) color coat has to be wear in addition having logo of Chandigarh university on left side pocket of it.
For rest of the days, students can have any decent casual clothes(t-shirts, shirts, jeans, trousers, jackets etc) on them.
P.S. : Kurta Pajamas are not allowed in normal casual wear.

chandigar university is a deemed university. that means no colleges is affiliated by cu and cu is affiliated by it self. and it also affiliated by UGC.
now coming to the dress code. there is same dresscode for boys and girls. Uniform is same for boys and girls in chandigarh university. The uniform has white shirt,grey Pant,red tie and blue coat. One should have to wear uniform only on Wednesdays and on other days student can wear whatever they want.
