IHM Bangalore Admission 2023: The Institute of Hotel Management, Bangalore is among one of the top ten IHMs in the country. IHM Bangalore offers undergraduate degree in B.Sc and postgraduate degree in MSc, also diploma and craftsmanship courses in the hospitality field and Hotel Management. It was set up as a Food Craft Institute in 1969 offering short courses. From 1983, it started offering a three year degree in hotel and hospitality administration. IHM Bangalore is a public institute which is affiliated to Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT). The institute is also certified by the ISO. The admission to undergraduate courses is offered on the basis of NCHM JEE, a national level hotel management entrance examination. The application process for IHM Bangalore is offline only. However, the candidates seeking admission in B.Sc. and M.Sc. must register themselves for NCHMCT JEE through the respective official website.
Admission to any of the programmes in IHM Bangalore is based on a valid score obtained in the National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination (NCHMCT JEE).
The application fee is Rs. 1000 for General/OBC categories and Rs. 450 (Rs. 400 for online applications) for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
Candidates applying online can pay registration fees through credit/debit cards or net banking methods.
Candidates shortlisted in the JEE exam will be called for a counselling session to be held in New Delhi.
After qualifying NCHMCT JEE, students need to appear for the Personal Interview (PI) round.
Final admission of candidates is subject to their overall ranking in the written test and interview.
For admission in Diploma courses, the candidate must have completed/appeared the 10th or 12th exam from any recognized board in India with English as one of the main subjects.
Students must have passed class 12 along with having passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination. Students must also have qualified the NCHM JEE as the qualifying exam.
The college is offering various courses at UG, PG and Diploma level which comprise of courses like Diploma in Food Production, Diploma in Bakery and Confectionary, B.Sc Hospitality and Hotel Administration, and M.Sc Hospitality Administration.
Candidates willing to take IHM Bangalore admission must register themselves for NCHMCT JEE through the respective official website. Thereafter, students must fill the online application from. The students qualifying in the entrance exam will further be called for counselling after which the successful students will have to appear for the personal interview round.
