About Institute of Hotel Management Catering and Nutrition, Srinagar
IMH, Catering and Nutrition Srinagar was established in the year 1982, to start a special hospitality education in the scenic place of Jammu and Kashmir. This affiliated college has been set up in Rajbagh, Srinagar and since its inception it has been catering to the need of aspiring hoteliers for more than forty years. Currently the enrolment stands at 308 and faculty strength is 9 which gives it a much more personalised approach to learning for students interested in the hospitality industry. Due to the best efforts to ensure quality education the institute accepts candidates from the National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE).
In order to help the student in their all-round development and also to facilitate the teaching learning process several facilities are available for the students at Institute of Hotel Management, Catering & Nutrition, Srinagar. The campus has the provision of boy’s hostel and the girl’s hostel where students from different part of the country are given comfortable accommodation. The gymnasium practices enable the students to keep fit while the library resources comprise of information touching on hospitality and culinary. Facilities like playgrounds and indoor sports facilities keep students fit and healthy leading to balance social and physical lives…IT equipped facilities lets students be up-to-date with current advancements in the specified career paths. More than a dining hall, the cafeteria of the institute is used for the purpose of training the freshman hospitality students.
Institute of Hotel Management currently offers one full-time course: the B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration course. This coarse of study is designed to take three years and is aimed at preparing students to be professional in the expanding field of hospitality. It offers details on how different hotels are managed including catering and nutrition for a good basis in this line of business.
