Ihm Kolkata is on all India 3rd rank. Wifi facility is not there. Medical facility is bad. Mess food is bad, college canteen donot provide variety of food.Hostel cost is nominal but lots of insects are there, proper pest control need to be done. College is very strict regarding attendance 75% is compulsory. Study and industrial exposure is there, as 4months industrial training is compulsory. Lots of companies come for industrial and campus placement, rest depend of the students how well they do. One thing i would like to add if you have studied hotel management job is assured.

Great college in terms of the course curriculum. You have good industry exposure. All the industry bigwigs come for placements. The infrastructure is also very good. It has experienced and knowledgeable faculty. In terms of ROI it is excellent. The only issue I find is its a bit far from the main hub of the city.

Life at IHM,Kolkata

I recently graduated from IHM, Kolkata and it was a very amazing experience. We get a great industry exposure . In our college we have a fest every year. It happens on a grand level. The name of the fest is Gourmet. Many personalities from hotel industry visited the campus during that fest. The corporate from hotels such as Oberoi Grand, Taj Bengal and Novotel visited our campus during the fest. It was a great experience to have met them personally. The college is very affordable. My fees was Rs 300000 for 3 years which is really affordable and reasonable as compared to the quality of education and training i received. We are supposed to do four months internship during our three year program which give us an industry exposure. The student at IHM, Kolkata come from all across India and so there a cultural diversity too. We get to learn from each other a lot. there is a great aura altogether. I will like to recommend this course in this college to the students who wants a good knowledge of how the hotel industry works. The college is situated in the main city in Taratala ,Kolkata. There is no problem of transportation at all. It is well connected with the other parts of the city. In our college there is a weekly performance assessment of the students which helps the students to analyse their shortcomings and work on them. We were allotted respective mentors who continuously monitored us and helped us with the problems we faced. I will recommend this college to all the aspiring hospitality students.
