Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Information Technology is a four-year full-time undergraduate program recognized by AICTE and offered by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal.

BTech in Information Technology meets the computational needs of business with an emphasis on technology. The exponential growth of user expectations and the increasing workload has created immense requirements for the professionals in the field of Information technology.

The course focuses on complete software development life cycle, database system, knowledge discovery with judicious blend of technical skills.

Graduates after doing this program get placed in organizations like Google, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Cisco, Intel, Samsung R&D, Honeywell, Deloitte, etc.

Eligibility Criteria

Indian Boards -

Pass in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / any technical vocational subject* as optional, from a recognized Board, with minimum 50 % aggregate marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects

A level -

Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science or any technical vocational subject* as optional subject in the ‘A’ Levels and English in the ‘AS’ / IGCSE / GCSE
Minimum grade required is an average of ‘D’ grade in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects

IB -

English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science or any technical vocational subject* as optional subject (preferably Mathematics and Physics at HL level)
IB Diploma or IB Certificate with minimum average of 4 points for Physics, Mathematics and any optional subject* with overall minimum of 24 points
Minimum 3 subjects in HL and 3 subjects in SL

College Infrastructure

I’m currently pursuing Information Technology at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), and my experience so far has been decent, though not without its challenges. The infrastructure here is solid—labs, classrooms, and the library are well-maintained, and the Wi-Fi is reliable most of the time. There’s scope for improvement in some of the lab equipment, but overall, it’s above average.

College Infrastructure

The lecture halls are equipped with smart boards and high-quality projectors, making presentations and lectures more engaging. The laboratories are well-stocked with the latest equipment, particularly benefiting students in research-based programs. The campus also features several cafes and eateries, providing plenty of options for meals and snacks.

College Infrastructure

Manipal has one of the best Infrastructure in India. Moreover, the 313acres campus provides immense facilities. The campus has been since 1957 and has till date one of the best infrastructures. Manipal also has one of the best Sports Infrastructure as well places like Marena are hotspots for aspiring athletes and players.
