Greetings!

Dear student,

Aligarh Muslim University and Jamia Millia Islamia University are one of the India’s top institutes which provide various under-graduate and post-graduate courses. Coming to your query, getting admission in any one of them is not as difficult as it looks. First and foremost thing to do is to stay calm. Don’t panic! First point to note is that these universities have various exams for admission in various graduate and post graduate degrees. Start revising your basic concepts of maths first, as you asked about BSc Maths. Stick to your NCERT books especially from classes 9-12. Go through the conceptual knowledge and brush your skills from regular practice. Practice is more important because you are less likely to solve questions within given time if you have not attempted those type of questions before, especially in case of mathematics and physics. The questions which are asked are nearly 70-80% of the NCERT concepts.

Try to practice maximum number of mock papers within time limit. In the beginning you can start without time limit but gradually you will find an increase in your pace and you will be able to see that you could solve maximum questions in minimum number of time. Coming to the need of coaching to crack such exams, it totally depends on you. It’s not compulsory to join any coaching institute to prepare for such exams. You can score your best even if you practice regularly at your home.

Do not forget to revise the science part as well. It also plays a vital role in the paper.

One of the key concepts to keep in mind while preparing for such exams is the knowledge of what is going to come in the paper. Yes, go through the exam syllabus prior to your preparation. Understand what is important and what is not. Then start your preparation. Although maximum questions are of NCERT level, practicing day by day will increase your confidence level.

When the exam is near start going through the previous year question papers. Solve each and every question in the given time and examine yourself. This will help you to maintain your time during the exam as well.

The day just before the exam revise the basic formulas which are generic in nature and which are prone to be asked in the exam. Last but not the least never lose hope. Give your best shot in attempting the exams and you surely will come out with flying colors. Hope this helps.

Regards!
