To join in the Archeological survey of India as a superintending archeologist, the basic eligibility is to have a masters degree in history or archeology or geology. ASI does not conduct any exams, it is done through SSC and UPSC. But as per your post you can directly get in by clearing UPSC. The other option is by being promoted. For lower posts you need to clear SSC.
