With 71 percentile (CRL rank 438k) , getting into NITs or top IIITs is very hard . Even for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC), your rank is likely too low for most branches.
State Colleges : Try state-level engineering colleges (like JNTU, DTU) using exams like MHT CET, TS EAMCET , or WBJEE .
Private Colleges :
VIT, SRM, LPU : Take their entrance exams (VITEEE, SRMJEEE) – easier to crack.
Improve Rank :
Drop a year, study harder, and retake JEE Main 2026 for a better rank.
Other Paths :
Diploma + Lateral Entry : Do a diploma, then join B.Tech directly in 2nd year.
BCA/B.Sc : Switch to computer applications/science and later do MCA/M.Tech.
Next Step :
Apply for state counseling (like TS EAMCET for Telangana colleges).
Check private college deadlines (VITEEE, etc.).
Talk to a counselor for backup plans.
Don’t lose hope – many great engineers come from state/private colleges too!
"This might feel overwhelming now, but you’ll adapt. Just take it one step at a time – I’m cheering for you!"
