Hello Mahitha,

At an 88.57 percentile in JEE Main, a CRL rank of 168000 and an EWS Category rank of 24000, the likelihood of receiving CSE or other top branches in NITs/IIITs through CSAB counseling are almost negligible, especially for general/open category seats. That said, as a female EWS candidate, you may have a few chances in:

  • Lower ranked NITs/IIITs (NIT Mizoram, NIT Nagaland, IIIT Una, IIIT Bhagalpur, etc.)
  • Non-core branches (Civil, Metallurgy, or Biotechnology)
  • Home state quota, if applicable and available at CSAB

HELLO,

With a 95.75% in JEE Main 2025 , General -EWS rank of 9115 and CRL 64274 you have a very good chance of getting CSE at IIIT Pune  as its previous closing ranks go beyond your EWS rank. However getting CSE at NIT Nagpur is highly unlikely as its CSE cutoff for general -EWS is usually below 8000.You may still get CSE in some mid or lower tier like NIT Patna , Jalandhar, Agartala, or Hamirpur depending on round and category trends

Marks vs Percentile vs Rank , College Predictor

Hope that Helps!

Hello,

For B.Tech admissions at IIIT Naya Raipur under the state quota (Chhattisgarh & NTPC) in 2025, the online application period was from May 9 to July 3, 2025. After applications ended, the college commenced its internal counselling sessions in July. The initial merit list was released on July 8, with additional rounds occurring on July 16 and July 24.

You must finish document verification and pay the fees by the deadlines set for each round. They additionally provided a branch upgradation round in early August. If you’ve submitted your application, make sure to frequently visit the institute’s official admission website, particularly in mid to late July, to monitor the merit lists, counselling timelines, and any news or openings.

Hope this helps. All the best!

You did your best in NEET, and it’s okay that you didn’t get a government seat this time. Since it was your first try, and if your heart still beats for becoming a doctor, and you’re ready to give one full focused year, then taking a drop is okay — but only if you’re 100% sure you’ll give it your everything, with no regrets. But if you also like coding or tech, then CSE at IIIT Kalyani is a really nice option too. IIITs are good, and CSE can give you a strong career, good placements, and even chances to go abroad or work at top companies. So just sit for a minute, think what excites you more — medicine or computers — and go with the one that makes you feel happy inside. Both paths are great, you just need to pick the one your heart really wants.

The General rank is coming out to be 124530 and corresponding OBC rank is 30000 - 35000. There is less chance in IIITs as the competition is cut-throat now-a-days. You may get lower branches in some NIT with this rank. Check out JEE MAIN COLLEGE PREDICTOR and predict your college:

DS certificate is provided to those whose parents were in army and partially or totally disabled. One can use this certificate only to get admission in IITs.

Hope this information helps you. Good luck.

Dear Candidate ,
With your given rank , your chances of getting CSE in top NITs or IIITs are slim , but you do have a good chance of ECE , Mechanical , or Civil engineering in mid-tier NITs - especially if you have a home -state quota . At IIITs , CSE might be difficult , but ECE or IT branches at newer or tier -2 IIITs ( IIIT Nagpur , Agartala , Manipur ) are possible . In GFTIs , getting CSE or ECE is more realistic , with institutes like BIT Mesra being good options .
Participating in JoSAA counselling and carefully listing choices based on closing ranks and quota benefits will improve your chances .

If you belong to the ST category, the last round cutoff for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at IIIT Dharwad in 2024 was around 4447. In earlier rounds, the cutoff was between 2612 to 3127. This means if your rank is within this range, you had a good chance of getting a seat in that branch.

The total tuition fee for B.Tech in Data Science and AI at IIIT Dharwad is about Rs12.2 lakh for the full course. At the time of admission, you also need to pay Rs10,000 as admission fee and Rs20,000 as refundable caution deposit. Hostel and mess charges are about Rs3.8 lakh for the whole course, plus a refundable Rs10,000 as hostel caution deposit.

With a SC rank of 26,588 for IIIT Kalyani (West Bengal), your chance of admission in Cyber Security or Computer Science under the home state SC quota is quite slim. The number of reserved SC seats is typically taken by 20,000 or more (depending on the popular areas such as Cyber Security).

But do not despair:

Depending on the general SC quota may be one thin hope.

Check out supernumerary, or left over, seats, which occasionally become open following key rounds.

Look at other branches of the same quality or colleges with close towards IIIT having lower competitive cutoffs.

In case you are firm regarding the branch of IIIT Kalyani, you might as well appear in the spot rounds or open counselling.

NO,  that GPA will not secure a seat for you
