When the entire city is your campus, college is heaven

This college is a wonderful place to study and have fun at the same time. There are many facilities available like gymnasium, badminton courts, table tennis, football and cricket grounds, basketball court. The cricket and football grounds could have been a bit more large. Apart from sports, there is a lot of exposure in the technical side as well. Regular talk sessions and workshops are organised in the campus, where many exceptionally knowledgeable personalities come to share their views and enhance our knowledge. As the college is surrounded by companies like infosys, seimens, HP, WIPRO, etc, many company visits are organised as well. This is also very helpful for internships. The college life is very good, given the fact that that the college is in electronic city, which is very peaceful and the entire city is like a campus to the students. But, as electronic city is full of industries and companies, there hardly are much fun spots near the campus. Still, it is in a very good locality. The placements of the college are exceptionally well. The minimum offer was 16 lpa, while the highest went to 60 lpa(off-campus). The hostels are really good. They are regularly cleaned, the washrooms are very neat and tidy. The mess food is also quite good, but once in a week it is really bad. The college also has wonderful professors, who have their post graduations from around the world, like MIT, Pennsylvania Institute of Technology, University of California, Berkeley, University of Massachusetts Amherst, Mississippi State University, and from various IITs as well. The students in this college come from various parts of India. There are also some foreign students studying here. The crowd is damn good. They have various abilities, some are exceptionally well guitarists, some have national levels awards in various sports, etc. The college fees is a bit high, but is affordable. As of now the total semester fees, including hostel and mess charges, is about 1,80,000. But given the facilities and the teaching and exposure, the fees is worth!!

The college has the State of the art labs for both CS and EC branches. IIITB is in Electronics City, Bangalore, which is one of India's largest electronic industrial parks and which houses major electronics and IT corporations that include Infosys, Wipro, Siemens, Hewlett-Packard, General Electric, and Flextronics, amongst others. The college also has a multi purpose hall used for every recreational activities which also has badminton courts and table tennis. The college also has football and basketball arena and currently the cricket ground is also under way. The infrastructure for IIITB's fully wired campus consists of a high-speed fiber-optic backbone connected to the internal network through a high-end gigabit Ethernet switch. Dedicated network equipment includes printers, scanners, and other equipment. Connectivity in the campus is established at two levels. First, the local intranet implements a "virtual classroom," where all the visual material, such as presentation slides used by professors in class, are made available electronically to students. All assignments and projects are announced and submitted online. The intranet also enables knowledge sharing among students. At the second level, 24x7 Internet access is available throughout campus, in both wired and wireless modes. IIITB is one of the few institutions in India to have an active wireless LAN (and was the first to have this technology way back in 1999). Wireless-mode access is available throughout campus academic and hostel blocks using the 802.11b/g protocol. Moreover, the institute has high end computational servers. The servers provide an in-house private cloud computing infrastructure through virtualization. Companies like Google, Amazon, Cisco, Walmart Labs, Yahoo!, Flipkart, Morgan Stanley and other giants visit the campus every year. College has a consistent 100% placement record.Government and industry funded labs functioning at IIIT Bangalore include Intel Planet Lab, Honeywell Control Lab, Intel Community PC Lab, HP IMS Lab, Siemens Vision Lab and HP Cluster Computing Lab. Research projects funded by the government and by industry include ICT for development funded by the Department of Information Technology of the Government of India, the Telematics Project funded by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India, ICT for Development funded by Microsoft, ICT Cluster Study funded by the Liverhume Trust, Cluster Computing in University Environment funded by HP, Community PC Initiatives funded by Intel, and MONSOON & INCITE projects of the European Union.

More than expected exposure

Strength of IIITB is it's faculty. All PhD from renowned universities (like MIT), very down to earth and approachable. You will have an option of doing projects for startups, NGOs, government agencies (like KSRTC) or your own idea (its completely your choice). It also have foreign exchange program in last semester where you can easily do your thesis in some foreign university instead of internship. Good coding environment, you will have awesome colleagues as 100% admissions are on merit basis (no caste reservation). Placements are pretty good (100% every year till now), as it's in Bangalore, definitely better than some of old IITs and any of NITs, so need not to worry about it. You get many opportunities to go for startup companies. All management activities are handled by student committee members: administration, mess, and even placements. Sports are encouraged, we have cricket ground, football, TT, carrom, volleyball, basketball, badminton and LAN gaming of course ;) So, just focus on learning and enjoy, rest is taken care.

i got 84.21664625 percentile in jee mains 2020 so can i take admission in dtu or iiit

Manisha Gupta Expert 28th Jan, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

The exact prediction would be difficult regarding your admission possibilities based on your percentile.

You may also calculate your expected rank by this formula

100 - your total percentile score is the percentage  of people ahead of you. 874469 are the number of candidates appeared for Jan exam. So rank formula is (100 - your total score) X 869010 /100. If the number of candidates for April exam increased to 1200000 then your final rank shall be (100 - your total score) X 1200000/100

Using the formula

(100 - your total score) X 869010 /100

Your probable rank will be 1,37,216.

As per the previous year cutoff with this rank the chances are less to get a seat in DTU & IIIT Delhi.

You can check your other state level admission possibilities with JEE Main college predictor tool.

Manisha Gupta Expert 28th Jan, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

It's difficult to provide you the exact about the exact rank & admission possibilities. But as per the previous year cutoff, The chances are very less to get a seat in NITs, IIITs. You can go for the state level counselling.

Your probable general rank will be 1,73,802.

Can I get nits, iiit collages in 79.76 percentile this year

Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 28th Jan, 2020

You haven't mentioned your Home State and the Category you belong to. This is important because Cut offs are different for Home State Candidates and Other State Candidates. To be honest,  its difficult to predict the actual rank or JEE advanced qualifying marks. Neverthless, you may calculate your expected rank by this formula

A percentile is the no.of Candidates who scored better than you in the exam. Going by that, to calculate your JEE percentille, we should use the formula 100 - your total percentile score. Now 869010 Candidates appeared for Jan exam. Going by that, your rank formula  is (100 - your total score) X 869010 /100. Your rank can be predicted by using the formula, (100-your total percentile)*869010/100. In your case, your approximate rank would be 175887 . Let's say the number of candidates for April exam increased to 12,00,000 then your final rank shall be (100 - your total score) X 12,00,000/100

At this point in time, it is difficult to predict the JEE Advanced qualifying marks but 85 percentile and above should be an ideal score. With this score, NITs and IIITs are difficult.
