BMS College of Engineering which started its operations in 1946 with just 3 under graduation courses, today offers a wide range of 46 courses that are limited not only to under graduation but also offers courses that are at doctoral and postgraduate levels. Courses in the departments of B.E., M.Tech, MBA, MCA, PhD are offered by the College and sound infrastructure is created to provide students with all needed facilities to complete them in a proper way. Due to all the sophisticated facilities that are provided by the College, there is a rush of students every year to get BMSCE admissions. BMSCE admissions are conducted on the basis of entrance examinations at various levels. PGCET entrance by the government of Karnataka score is considered valid as well as scores of KMAT, COMED-K, GATE, KCET, KMT, MAT, CMAT are considered valid for various courses for the purpose of admission. As the placement offered at the college is guaranteed for all the meritorious students there is a wave of many students who stand in a queue to get admissions at the College. 45% aggregate with Maths, Physics and English as compulsory subjects with Biotechnology/Biology/Chemistry/Electronics/Computer Science as optional subjects.
FOR ST/ SC & OBC (Category - I, 2A, 2B, 3A 3B) CATEGORIES Applicants:
40% aggregate with Maths, Physics and English as compulsory subjects with Biotechnology/Biology/Chemistry/Electronics/Computer Science as optional subjects.
An applicant other than the following condition mentioned above needs to have a valid score in the examinations of KCET or COMED-K entrance exams.
Fill up the KCET or COMED-K form for the entrance exam.
Cut off percentiles will be declared by BMSCE.
Qualify for the B.E for the required program.
Candidates will have to meet the required cut-offs that are declared by the BMSCE.
BMSCE will declare the names of the applicants who are eligible for the process of admission on the website.
BMSCE will conduct physical counselling after the process of clearing KCET or COMED-K.

BMS College of Engineering that was established in 1946 is an autonomous body having funding both private and also some amount from the state government of Karnataka is spread in an area of 11 Hectares in the garden city Bengaluru of India. BMSCE facilities include a central library, hostel and state-of-the-art infrastructure to provide the best learning environment to students.
BMSCE is known not only to foster education but also provide activities other than that of academics to the students to enhance their overall growth. For this purpose, it has developed many clubs and committees in the campus which take part in various activities, workshops and events in the college that are ongoing in the institute throughout the year. Some of the clubs and committees are:
● BMSCE IEEE: The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer was started in 2009 under the leadership of Dr. Ravishankar Deekshit, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics to work towards workshops and events so that the students at the college are kept updated with the most recent technology that the world has seen.
● BMSCE UTSAV: UTSAV is organized once every year and was started in the year 1981, to display talents, zeal, expertise of the students to the highest level in this event.
● Phase Shift: It is still a newborn baby of the institute that was started only a few years before with a purpose to display the abilities related to technology in a workshop conducted for two days and healthy competition amongst 15 streams of the college wherein the students compete to win rewards and is held once in a year.
● BMS Photography Club: A club that is created to fulfil the passion of photography amongst the students who participate in it. The students after clicking pictures can also post it on the Instagram of the club. This club organizes a Photo Stage event every year once wherein leading and prominent photographers from varied fields are called upon to the college to impart their learnings and experience to the students. It is a fun-filled event.
● Mountaineering Club, BMSCE: All the adventure, epinephrine and fanatic enthusiasts’ students in the college join the club to fulfill their adventure aspirations and this club was started way back in the year 1983.
● Rotaract club of BMSCE: All the social, welfare and activities related to fellowships are a part of routine activities of this club that is a part of the college.
● Aero BMSCE: All those students who want to explore and witness their want for aerospace technology and engineering and increase their knowledge in this particular field can join this club.
● BMSCE Entrepreneurship Development Cell: The college aims at inculcating entrepreneur skills in the students and to motivate them by conducting not only workshops and seminars but also events that will improve this particular skill. The college felt the need of imparting this skill in their students and so formed this cell in the year 2012.
● NSS UNIT BMSCE: A unit wherein a student participates just to satisfy his soul of serving the needy people and providing social service and attaining a kind of joy that gives the utmost level of satisfaction.

A candidate who have passed Qualifying Examination i.e, any Recognised under graduate examination or equivalent examination with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science or Computer Application or Computer Programming or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% (for general merit candidate) of marks taken together in all the subjects in all years of the degree examination is eligible for admission into MCA course.
