After some research regarding theB.Arch course in MZU, I found out that it is a newly introduced course in the college. Even the faculty in the architecture department is young but are experienced and provide you good exposure. The total no.of faculty is 12 including the guest and the regular ones. The HOD is also an experienced personnel in the architecture department with about 30 years experience. Many faculties have completed their Masters abroad and Bachelors from premium architecture institutions like IITs, SPA, JNUFA, JJ, NIT etc.
Per semester fees for B.Arch course is around 30,000 including hostel fees for six months and monthly mess fee of 2000, the total hostel fees is Rs.29670. The admission is through NATA and JEE MAIN scores.
Mizoram University is a central University with NAAC grading of 'A'. The curriculum of B.Arch in MZU is followed as per the COA (Council of Architecture) guidelines and thus, is recent and regularly updated. As B.Arch is a new course in MZU, the infrastructure for this department especially is newly built. There are spacious air conditioned classrooms and studios, computer lab, construction yard, academic and seminar complex, OAT (open Air Theatre), jury rooms, material gallery, department library. Several fests and events are also organized in the Architecture dept. Many workshops are also conducted every Semester in which Architects from different states are called. Some state govt-funded workshop also takes place.
Placements generally do not occur for B.Arch students in any architecture colleges. But the MZU has contacts with firms across metro cities of the country.
