You cannot apply for a seat under the Category that tyou did not apply for. Because the merit list is prepared based on the Category that you selected during NEET application form filling. So if you did not select EWS during that time in December and also did not make any corrections during the Correction window, you cannot use your EWS certificate now and opt for reservation. The merit list cannot be changed and State your rank will be based on General Category only and not EWS State Rank.

If your Category is Unreserved/General in NTA NEET-UG form then as per rules, further modifications are not allowed in case of Category. suppose you are applying for EWS Quota in Haryana State Counselling and you have the EWS certificate too but the verification of your Rank and Marks and Category will be done on the basis of your Admit Card and NEET Score Card and if your Category is General in Admit Card then in this case you can not claim the benefits of EWS Quota and Allotted seat through EWS Quota will be cancelled. So it's better to go with same category which was filled in NTA NEET-UG form.
