im in the top 20 percentile of jee mains last year from general category but this year i fill jee mains form from gen-ews category

Yes you are fully eligible for getting nit or iiit, your last year category or performance will not affect this year's performance or category, if you have given jee mains through gen-ews category still you are perfectly eligible for getting admission in nits and iits.
