Amity University | M.Tech Admissions 2025
ApplyRanked amongst top 3% universities globally (QS Rankings).
Based on your JEE Main 2025 results (62 percentile, SC category rank 42911) after JoSAA Round 6 you meet the SC qualifying percentile of 61.1526933. You're eligible for CSAB Special Rounds.
Your rank makes securing top branches like CSE/ECE in premier NITs/IIITs challenging. SC cutoffs for these usually fall within 1,000-12,000 rank range.
Explore less popular branches (Civil, Mechanical, Metallurgy) or newer/lower-ranked NITs (like NIT Puducherry, NIT Mizoram). Home State quota can significantly improve your chances.
Good luck!!
Hello student,
Yes, a rank of 20,676 in the SC category for JEE Main is likely to get you into some IIITs, but not the top ones, you have a good chance of getting into other IIITs, especially those considered lower-ranked or those offering less popular specializations.
Reserved category candidates, like those in the SC category, can often get admission with lower cutoffs than the general category.
Refer to the previous years' cutoffs for IIITs in the SC category on the JoSAA website to get an idea of which institutions might be within your reach.

Participate in the JoSAA counseling process and fill in your choices carefully, prioritizing the IIITs and branches you're interested in.
Thank you!!
Dear aspirant,
To apply for admission in IIT BASARA, students need to apply online through the official website. The application process typically involves filling out an online form, uploading necessary documents, and paying the application fee. Shortlisted candidates will be called for counselling based on their entrance exam scores and past academic performance. For more details please visit this link given below.
Hello Aspirant,
EEE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) and ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) have many similarities - many of the core electronics areas such as: digital systems, circuits, and microprocessors are courses that are similar across both programs. However, EEE has a bit of a tendency to be more focused on electrical systems and power engineering, and ECE is focused more on communication systems, signal processing and VLSI design.
In the case with IIIT Gwalior, EEE has a very strong electronics and computing focus and makes the program quite similar to an ECE program. So if you are a bit more interested in ECE related areas but have a good opportunity with EEE at a better school like IIIT Gwalior, I think its a good choice. You'll still get a chance to work in electronics and computing areas and can shape your career in ways that are related to ECE such as: embedded systems; VLSI; or communications.
if a student belongs to sc category and scores exactly the qualifying cutoff percentile in jee mains, then yes he can get seat in nit or iiit based on jee mains rank, sc category cutoff for nit usually around percentile forty to forty five, and iiit may have similar or slight lower requirement, after jee mains results counselling is done by joints e seat allocation authority jesaa for nit iiit and gfti seats, the student enters jee mains roll number category and round by round seats are allotted based on rank choice and category reservation, if qualified percentile matches the cutoff and seats are available in preferred choice then allotment happens, student must complete document verification pay fees and join college within given timeline, for exact cutoff percentiles and previous year data please check full details here

With a JEE Main 2025 rank of 1,32,000 under the General female category and home state Rajasthan, your chances in top branches like CSE, IT, or ECE at MNIT Jaipur are very low, as these usually close much earlier. However, you may have a borderline chance in lower-demand branches such as Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Production Engineering at MNIT, especially in the later rounds of counselling.
For IIITs, most of the core CSE branches in top IIITs close under 40,000–60,000 ranks. But a few newer or lower-tier IIITs like IIIT Agartala, IIIT Bhagalpur, IIIT Manipur, or IIIT Ranchi may accept ranks close to or slightly beyond 1 lakh for non-core branches or in spot rounds. For GFTIs, you might get branches like Civil or Electrical in institutes such as Gurukula Kangri (Haridwar), University of Hyderabad, or Assam University, especially in the last rounds.
Dear Naveen,
Thank you for reaching out to Careers360.
With your JEE Main Common Rank List (CRL) position at 1,30,000 and an OBC category rank of 46,000, securing a seat in the more sought-after NITs or IIITs—especially in core branches like Computer Science, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering—will be quite challenging. These programs tend to fill up rapidly, with cutoff ranks for OBC candidates typically much lower.
That said, opportunities do exist. You may find potential options in some of the newer NITs—such as Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, or Puducherry—in branches like Civil, Chemical, or Metallurgy, especially if you participate in the later rounds of JoSAA counselling. Similarly, select IIITs like those in Manipur, Agartala, Kottayam, or Bhagalpur may offer seats in Information Technology, Electronics, or recently introduced specializations.
I highly recommend utilizing the Careers360 College Predictor Tool. This resource analyzes your category, home state, and preferences to provide a more accurate list of possible colleges. Additionally, consider participating in the CSAB Special Rounds, where there is sometimes a drop in cutoff ranks, opening up further possibilities.
If you require more tailored guidance for the counselling process, our expert team at Careers360 is available to assist.
Best wishes for your future academic endeavors.

Hello
The sixth round, or Round 6, of JoSAA counselling 2025 is not limited to IITs only. It covers seat allotment and upgradation across all participating institutes, including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.
Key Points
Round 6 is the final round for IITs. After this, no further allotment or upgradation is possible in IITs.
Round 6 also includes NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. This round remains active for the NIT plus system, and students can still receive upgraded seats in these institutes, even if they have already accepted a seat in Round 5.
For IIT seats, Round 6 marks the end of the JoSAA counselling process. There are no additional rounds and no CSAB special rounds for IITs.
For the NIT plus system, which includes NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, any remaining vacant seats after Round 6 will be filled through CSAB special rounds. Students who have not yet secured a seat should register for CSAB in order to remain in contention.
Yes if you are from ST category and you take admission in IIIT Sonepat then you do not have to pay tuition fees because government gives full tuition fee waiver to SC and ST students under scholarship scheme this means the big amount which is called tuition fee around sixty two thousand five hundred rupees per semester is free for ST students but you still have to pay some small fees like exam fees registration fees hostel fees mess fees and development fees these are called other charges and every student has to pay them so your total fee will not be zero but it will be much less than others like you may have to pay only fifteen thousand or twenty thousand or more depending on hostel and food if you apply for Top Class Scholarship then you may also get money for books laptop and living but this scholarship is only for students whose family income is less than six lakh rupees per year and you have to show your ST certificate income certificate and some ID proof and bank details when you apply you can fill the scholarship form online on National Scholarship Portal and after that your college will help you to submit the form and get your tuition fees removed so remember you do not have to pay tuition fees but you still have to pay other small charges and hostel if you are living in hostel so before joining IIIT Sonepat you must contact the scholarship department or college office and ask them clearly what documents are needed and when to apply if you do everything on time then you will not face any problem and your studies will go smooth and you can save lots of money and focus on learning and building your future this is how ST students get fee benefit in IIIT Sonepat.
