For NIT Patna’s CSE branch through JEE Main, last year’s closing rank was around 16,000 for both home state and other state quotas. This means you need a rank better than 16,000 to have a good chance of admission. Cutoffs can change every year based on the number of applicants and seat availability. It’s best to check the official JoSAA website or NIT Patna’s site for the latest cutoff details during counselling. Let me know if you want help with other colleges!

Hi there,

You have to tell about the rank and percentile that you have got in the jee examination instead of telling your marks. The colleges are allotted based on the ranks that you secure in your examination.

At this marks, it is difficult to get admission in any government college since there is a lot of competition and your rank will be probably in higher region. Thus it will be difficult to get admission.

However you can visit the official website of the colleges and the josaa and know about the previous year cutoff and thus get an idea about the college in which you can get a admission.

You can take help from our college predictor which is specifically designed to give you the list of colleges at the rank that you have achieved in the examination. the link is mentioned below:

Hope this resolves your query.

Dear Aspirant,

If you fall under the cutoff mentioned by the university then you are absolutely eligible for cs engineering in NSIT or DTU. But as the CS engineering is highly demanded course by many applicants it gets difficult to grab a seat due to limited seats. You should definitely apply in both of these colleges as both the colleges are highly ranked and you have higher chances to get in as you fall under the cutoff mentioned.

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing well!

See if you get an offer from NSIT, then you can just reject or ignore that offer and can just sit in the next round of counselling. You dont need to go for document verification if you are not interested to take a seat offered by the NSIT.

You can also predict your chances of admission in colleges through JOSAA counselling using our JEE College Predictor Tool. Kindly visit the link given below to predict colleges:

Hope this will help.

Dear Yogesh,

As you mentioned you don’t really have interest in mechanical so you should definitely go for CSE in any institute you mentioned. Remember, you can achieve only when you believe and have passion in what you do. NIT BHOPAL seems to have a very impressive rating based on student’s reviews. According to them, It's amazing. Your four years will have been worthwhile. Excellent in terms of placement. Many renowned MNCs frequently visit MANIT. In truth, you don't have to work very hard to acquire advice here. The class notes will help you manage. As a result, you can spend time practising competitive programming. Use different online platforms. You will find a wonderful competitive culture for coding because we have programming clubs and sites as well. The campus itself is quite beautiful.

So ,there are a few basic requirements in general if you want to establish a business.

1. A notion (it may or may not be a new one).

2. A group to carry it out

(Again, what matters is how well the team works together and how well everyone understands one another; it is not required for everyone to have perfect talents.)

3. Carrying out.

Now, as a CSE student when you graduate you have plenty of opportunities or well paying jobs that attracts you, and this experience is also necessary since one must know how a company operates before opening his or her own. (This needs to be well planned, laid out, and every possibility must be thought of.)

Another option is to pursue a PhD before starting a business. Since a PhD is intended for researchers, many people view this as an ambiguous decision. But the benefit in this situation is that if you conduct research and approach it with the intention of creating a product at the end, you spend five years developing it, and you end up with something that is incredibly original and has never been done (Point 1 Unique Idea).

If you have the three things I listed earlier, starting a business isn't that difficult, and having experience on your side never hurts. Because of this, most people prefer to get a job before starting one, though some choose to do so right after receiving their bachelor's degree in technology. Additionally, the tendency is shifting; more students—including CSE students—are choosing to work with startups as they become more prevalent.

Hope this helps you.

All the best.

Dear aspirant!

Hope you are doing well! I will recommend you to go with cse in dtu . DTU has a huge computer science department and each year the highest package is offered to a DTU CSE student that goes upto 2 crores. CSE of DTU is far better than CSE of NSIT.. students who are interested in infrastructure, placement , college life should prefer dtu. DTU has separate popularity among the youth .

Hope it helps you !!

Thanks for asking query!!

Dear aspirant,

It is quite hard to predict the exact admission situation as it depends on the number of students attempting the exam and the preferences of the students etc.

I am assuming you belong to the general category.

Looking at the previous year trends we can say that you have a good chance of getting

Biotechnology, Chemical, Civil, Environmental engineering, Production in DTU.

Biotechnology and Mechanical in NSUT

CSE, Software and electricals are quite competitive and hence it is hard to get these branches with your rank.

To know more about what options you have please check the rank predictor linked below.

Hope this helps.

Hello Aspirant,

Very first thing I would like to clear you is that mentioned NITs are better than DTU or NSUT in terms of placement, facilities, faculties and so on..

On such CRL rank you have good chances to get various NITs or IIITs or GFTIs for CSE branch. You can get an idea from previous year's closing ranks available on the official website :-

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck for your future!!

hello aspirant,

With the above mentioned percentile in GENERAL Category in JEE mains, your overall predicted rank will be around 126852 - 142600 . Now looking at the previous year JEE mains Cutoff, you have very difficult chances of getting any NIT or IIIT as the minimum required cutoff for general category students to get good NIT's is around 97-99 percentile.

You also have difficult chances of getting admission in DTU or NSUT as the previous year Cutoff for these colleges is around 95+ percentile.

So, what I may suggest you that you can take admission in most of the private colleges that take admission on the basis of the JEE mains score.

To know more about the JEE mains Cutoff, you can follow the below mentioned link : https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff

To know about your chances of admissions in other colleges, you can follow the below mentioned link to know more : https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?utm_source=qna&utm_medium=jee_cp

I hope that this will help.

Indeed, effectively you'll get conceded into NSUT and numerous different nits also. It's generally an excellent university and needs a percentile of at least over 92. Since you are from OBC and have 93 percentile your odds are high.

One requirement is to take the JEE (Main) test. One likewise needs to get somewhere around 60% imprints (55% for OBC-NCL, 55% for Defense, half for SC/ST/PwD) in a total of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class XII.

College Infrastructure

I would give 4 out 5 giving 4/5 for infrastructure feels fair because the campus delivers strong academic support with modern essentials, while a few maintenance and distance-related frictions remain. The academic blocks have well-equipped classrooms and labs that support hands-on learning; access to computing facilities, library resources, and lecture halls is generally smooth and organized. Yehi balance—functional classrooms + labs + library depth—daily learning ko reliable banata hai. Campus spread is a clear positive: open, green spaces, dedicated sports areas, and a structured layout make movement logical and campus life active. Sports grounds, indoor facilities, and basic utilities (bank/ATM, medical support, helpdesks) ensure routine needs are addressed without derailing study schedules—matlab infrastructure day-to-day rhythm ko support karta hai. Hostels and connectivity add to the stability: separate accommodation blocks, campus Wi‑Fi, and common spaces help students manage academics and downtime together. Common areas and service points reduce friction during peak academic weeks—yeh subtle cheezein overall experience ko steady rakhti hain. Why not 5/5? On a large campus, walking distances between blocks can feel long, and some facilities show uneven upkeep or delayed fixes—particularly in select labs or activity areas. Kabhi-kabhi cafeteria/vendor churn and small admin delays bhi experience ko thoda affect kar sakte hain. These are not deal-breakers, but they keep it a solid 4/5 instead of flawless. Net-net, infrastructure is dependable, student-first, and aligned with academic priorities. If someone values structured learning environments, usable labs, active sports spaces, and a campus that feels like a self-contained ecosystem, NSUT’s infra genuinely delivers—4/5 is a thoughtful, grounded rating.

Strong research base and placements self-driven

College Infrastructure

The campus is very big. It has modern and green campus. It has also well-maintained environment with classrooms. It has also hostel facilities. Classrooms are air-conditioned amd washrooms are neat and clean.

Faculty, infrastructure is good, but placement is poor.

College Infrastructure

The campus is very beautifully built and the hostels have sufficient amenities like wifi, reading rooms, badminton court, common rooms, etc. The hostel is also nice and provides good quality food in mess and canteens.
