P.E.S. Institute of Technology has shown a phenomenal growth and emerged as the best college for engineering education in Karnataka.Excellent administration, quality faculty and students, phenomenal placements and results along with an exuberance exuded by everyone on campus has helped it scale such heights.PES has some good professors and many of them are undertaking research work on or off the campus. This helps students in doing R&D themselves or with them. This also helps in placement or if you wanna study abroad.

PESIT is one of the best colleges in Bangalore. It is popular because of its own stand in the society. I like to study here because of the very good teaching system here. If we miss our classes we can watch those videos online anytime. This is one of the facilities which attracted me towards this college. But as all colleges cannot be 100% good in all ways and hence even PES has its own drawbacks. I personally dint like the internals or exam patterns here as it is completely based on computer. But overall its a good college and I would recommend my juniors to join here and enjoy being a PESITian.

Perfect College

This college is situated in Banashankari which is a very happening place in bangalore. And this, makes it a very connected and popular college. The rankings of the college all around Bangalore justify that PES University is #3. Also, it is very right because it earns that rank by being top-notch in all aspects. The infrastructure is very well planned and the campus is huge. The faculty is very efficient and well qualified. All departments have excellent labs. There are so many extra-curricular activities that a student has a wide variety of options to choose from. Hostels are very very nice ( I am a Hostelite). The safety factor for the hostelites is something parents SHOULD NOT worry about at all. Overall, It is the perfect college for everything.

Overall the College is good the environment is good. Facilities are good. PES has made a brand name for itself. It is quite strict in some ways. College is very particular about the attendance. We have 5 marks for attendance. The hostel is comparatively strict, i.e, strict in timings, permissions etc. Management is very particular in wearing ID cards. They set tough papers and evaluate strictly. There is no room for lineant correction but in a way it helps us to grow and perform better.

It is a very good place for an education and to improve life

This is purely based on my experience at PESIT(now PES University) year 1: It was like one of those years while in school due to some reason you change the school and everything/everybody seems to be interesting. But as you try and adjust to the daily routine, internals will be around the corner and the zeal of performing well in your first internal. Make new friends, have group discussions and just wait for the sem to end and you get to go home(only 10 days though). Even semesters are full of fests and events and if you are an artist or a dancer, a singer or whatever, you will find enough reasons to participate in the fest and officially bunk classes. year 2: Oh you enter your respective branch here and then the study begins! with all the assignments and mini projects and special topics, you are pretty much occupied, and by the end of 4th sem you might also start resenting yourself for having chosen pesit :P year 3: Still more branch related subjects and the companies coming for the intern drive, it is then you tell yourself I KNOW NOTHING! So this is the right time to start preparing for your career after engineering(this is what one should do, but most of us end up watching some tv series :P) year 4: Aaaaaand the placements are on, work hard, answer smartly and get yourself a job(nothing is more relaxing than having a job in hand). As and when you and your friends get placed, it is followed by uncountable treats, outings and much more fun. PS: still in my final semester trying to figure out how to clear this sem:P So in a nutshell, yes life here is very hectic, but I will always be grateful to this college for getting me a job and all the amazing people I met here:)

The college atmosphere is good. You can both enjoy life and also achieve your goals with the help of the faculty at this college. There are numerous clubs and organisations in this college so you can explore different options. The placements are good here, but you have to be on the top to get placed in a good company, because of immense competition.

Awesome 4 years with the best of the practices followed

Batch of 2017 | B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
I am a Computer Science and Engineering undergraduate at PES University (formerly PESIT) currently in my fourth year. The four years at PESIT have been amazing and life changing. It is widely believed, that had PESIT been an NIT, it would have definitely ranked in the top five. PES University is known especially for its Tech branches. The college has some of the best faculty in research, engineering and teaching. The college has an abundance of computer related clubs including Kanoe, Cloud Computing and Big Data Labs, Student Microsoft Lab and many more with huge funding and collaboration with the industry and other universities alike. The atmosphere is very diverse and friendly and the crowd is intellectually bright. Being situated in the heart of the city and widely regarded as the best college in IT in Karnataka, it is the first choice of many industries and IT companies and the placements are top notch. The reputation of PESIT alumni at top industries is such, that the industries are willing to go the extra mile to hire the best of the students from the talented pool at PESIT. The Computer Science department was recently shifted to a new building called simply as the B-Block with state of the art labs and classrooms. The classrooms are modern with wooden benches, a smart TV among other amenities. The computer labs are in great shape and equipped very leniently. Students at PESIT are a favorite for many companies including but not limited to Microsoft Research, Intuit, Goldman Sachs, VMWare, Walmart Labs, Cisco, Citrix, Morgan Stanley among others. More than 80 students have been offered 10+ lacs packages. PES registered its name in the space race recently with the launch of its Polar Launch Satellite Vehicle called PISAT (pun intended). The satellite was launched successfully into the orbit by ISRO and the efforts of the students were lauded in a tweet by the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi. The management at PESIT has the zeal and passion of taking PESIT forward into the list of globally reputed colleges and is working hard to achieve the same. It is easily the next best place after the computer science branches at the IITs. The college provides industrial and research exposure at a tender age which is unheard of colleges other than the IITs. PES University has started conducting its own entrance test PESSAT (pun intended again) since 2014 and has seen a dramatic n fold increase in the number of students taking the entrance test. This year the number rose to 25000 and its only the third year of the incubation of the college as a university. New courses are introduced every year into the university program to provide quality education which is best in its class in diverse fields. Although the fees for the PESSAT students is going to burn a hole in the pocket, it is worth the money. The college life is very average and the strict attendance policy makes it worse. There is a dearth of adequate sports facilities and little or no scope to excel in sports. However, there is a cricket ground and outdoor basketball court to provide some relief and extra space which provides respite for cricket lovers and dogs taking warm shit on a cold night. The hostels are nice but the management is strict (after some incidents). Overall the hostel life is pretty abysmal. The overall experience at PESIT has been overwhelming and you will experience the best 4 years of your life here. Welcome to the PESIT brand. Proud to be a PESITian.

Having state of the art wind tunnel laboratory which handful colleges in India have. Internship tie-ups with few companies gave industry exposure. Peer learning was the best part apart from making a lot of friends for life. Partnerships with internationally recognized organisations is an added bonus.

Pes university is a well known and renowned institute in Karnataka. The entry is through KCET and their all India test called Pessat since it is no longer affiliated to VTU and is a deemed university now. The paper has a very good standard equivalent to Jee especially the physics part. The college is very enthusiastic about its clubs and support the co-curricular activities. The teachers ate very qualifiedly. Since it is deemed now it has ample of opportunities. They have a 25% fee waiver for the toppers of every branch and a chance to go abroad if you do good in 6th semester with a travel grant. But the majority population is from south India and are dominating. They have 5 marks for attendance every semester which restricts enjoyment and a compulsion of 75% attendance. The wifi is very slow, unlike other colleges which is one of the major drawbacks. The campus is in the mid of the city and due to that, it is very small but admirable. Overall it is a very good college and is better than most of the NITs and the CSE branch is even capable of competing with the new IITs and can be given a second thought before wasting a year for IITs.

The first thing that strikes you is the awesome drawings on the outside of the college. Along with these, all the buildings are equipped with world class infrastructure. To improve the industry exposure more corporates should be invited to talk about their experience and as well as organize industrial visits. My friends made my college life more enjoyable. Without them, it would have been difficult to survive. I got placed in Accenture. Hostel is awesome along with good quality food which you find rarely. It gives a value for your investment in terms of world-class faculty, good placements, and exposure.

My college life An ECG

Batch of 2018 | B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering
I considered myself very lucky to have got admission in one of the top colleges in the city after a series of underperformances in class 12. Day one of college left me with mixed feelings. I didn't know whether I had to be worried and tensed about the fact the teachers were tyrants in terms of academics or happy about the fact that I had the freedom of the world, in my terminology. Well, I chose the latter. Freedom is something that has to be handled carefully, and I am still in the process of learning this lesson. Being a hosteler and having third-year students as my roommates, gave me a lot of knowledge about college and its working.I would constantly get advises and opinions, and this kind of helped me get familiarized with college and its ways. The fact that I am a social person did not make it a problem for me to make friends. At the end of one week of college, I saw myself talking to a lot of people, taking part in a lot of activities, roaming in random places and eating all kinds of outside food. The fact that I was able to gel so easily and adapt to such a big change gave me a lot of confidence. The first main event that we had was,'The Amateur Scientist', the techno-fest of our college. This was the ultimate platform for freshers to get to know college, make new friends and also engage themselves in college related work. I gave my name for the marketing domain. Later on, I also gave my name for taking interviews. On the day of the fest, I was made to take interviews of about 50 participants. That day was truly brilliant as it gave me a first-hand experience of how you are supposed to deal with different kinds of people, especially while talking to them and suiting to their demands. At the end of the day, I received a lot of compliments for the work I had done. I also started getting a lot of attention for the work I had done. I was the most excited person on earth. I assumed a false sense of popularity. Day by day, I was more into making friends and widening my circle and I was somehow in my own bubble, which was of course on top of the world. As one can observe, nowhere have I mentioned about studies or anything related to it. Exactly, that was exactly what was happening. I completely neglected studies and started living the life they would show in movies. Although, I wasn't exactly partying around or bunk or anything of that sort; I was still being irresponsible with respect to my studies.Days were going fast. By the time I realized anything or could get the sense of what I was doing, the semester end exams had arrived. Like every exam I had written until then in college, I had messed up even the final exams. All due to not studying. We have this deadly concept in college. That is, results arrive within 10 days after the end of our semester end exams, popularly called 'SEE'. As expected, I scored very less.I had just passed in every subject, with a meager grade point of 6.29. I then realized how strict the college was. My college seemed and still seems like a lion's den to me. Right now I am in my third semester. I have improved by a marginal amount and I still have a lot to improve on. Forgetting about marks and scores, here is one thing I absolutely respect my college for. My college has taught me that engineers are those people capable of multi-tasking. They are those people who can do anything and everything technical. That the word 'Engineer' is not merely a word, but an emotion. My college focuses on making each student a knowledgeable one. They encourage smart, sensible and practical learning. The college has taught me that with discipline, commitment, and motivation; even the feeblest of minds can become the strongest. Moreover, there is no such concept of a feeble mind.It is just how you condition your mind to. Now, getting out of the boasting about the 'greatness of college' mode; I would like to tell about Aatmathrisha or AT. AT is the biggest and coolest fest of our college. This is the fest that unites every single student from every department to work with each other. There is so much interaction, extravaganza, glamor, fun, work, food, dance, races and much more. I was a part of the DISCO team or the 'disciplinary committee'. As the name suggests, we were to look after the peace and discipline of our college while the fest was going on. I think this was the best job I could have probably got, as I assumed a lot of commands. I got to check people's bags, control them in the case of indiscipline, patrol the entire college along with my teammates. We had Sunidhi Chauhan perform for us in college. A let me tell you, we had about two thousand students on campus on the concert night. Dancing, singing and running around and doing whatever we wanted to, made it one of the best days in college for me, until now. Coming to my life in the hostel. My life in a hostel is no different from that of any other hosteler's. From making midnight magic to preying on our day scholar classmates' lunchboxes, I have done it all. Every hosteler has one thing to say, that their warden is the meanest.Well, I have nothing new to say either. We've had this one occasion. When we had to celebrate a friend's birthday at 12:00 am. Our hostel rules do not permit us to celebrate birthdays after 10:00 pm, that too in the mess hall. We had to break the rules. We somehow sneaked the cake into the hostel without the warden or the securities or any of the cameras' notice. I hid the parcel of cake in my laundry bag until 11:50 pm. Then, taking the parcel, my friends and I slowly made way to our friends room, all tip-toed. We felt like criminals at that point of time. We somehow managed to go. We made her cut the cake at 12:00. We laughed, partied and sang and then we heard footsteps. Heavy ones. And we then hear a loud knock on the door. All of us just instinctively started cleaning up the room, washing our faces. We kept the person waiting for about a minute. We stuffed the cake, balloon, and all the party items in a cupboard. While half of us hid in the bathroom, the other half picked random books and pens and sat on the floor pretending to study. As the birthday girl opened the door, door !we see this friend of ours standing angrily door. One of us was supposed to wake her up at 11:55, forgotten. but we were forgotten. Sighing a sense of relief, we all apologized and made up for it. After all the celebrations, we made sure we cleaned up every inch of the mess we created. At the end of it, we escaped from getting caught by the warden. Not just this, I have had a lot of instances when friends became family at the time of need, where we all united against our common enemy the warden. So summing up, I would like to say that I have had my own share of ups and downs and I still have a lot of college life left. And I want to make the most of it. Hence, the reason why I call my college life an ECG.

I was initially a bit disappointed when I did not get my preferred branch i. e ECE in premier NITs or any of the IITs. However my parents and teachers and others who matter encouraged me in selecting my course between PES and RV college where I was selected for ECE. I have discussed with all regarding the factors like Faculty, Campus interview, logistics, infrastructure, deemed university status etc and finally decided for PES and, believe me, this is one decision I will never regret. I like the atmosphere, the faculty, my classmates, the library and other infrastructure, the discipline and everything else of my college. Though sometimes I feel the school like discipline is a bit too much but the next moment I feel the it is essential to maintain and improving the standard PES is trying to achieve.

PES gives a lot a practical knowledge and has events held for hands-on work where-in we get know where are learning and studies are used. Labs are very well equipped.Since its a deemed university the internal assessments are computer based and this gives the best experience for future exams (GRE, GATE, CAT, GMAT) which are all computer based. The college holds only two internal tests which are counted, this makes sure that every student studies for the test unlike few colleges which have 5 tests and only two are counted.the end sem exam doesn't have optional questions which make sure that student doesn't skip any chapter which is crucial for later years.

The tests are modernized in which tests are held on computers with hi-tech technology as to bring out the talent in young to-be engineers rather than boost their memory skills.

The place has the very good mess and infrastructure. The girls hostel is good and maintained well. The college supports a lot of discipline. Life in pesu is not easy but very interesting. The labs are well equipped with good faculty. The library has a variety of books.
