Success with a late start is difficult but not impossible.Your exam dates depend on which test you are targeting most probably it is in april and may you have more than 6 months to prepare.

Securing a seat at IISc through JEE Main is extremely difficult as only top ranking candidates are considered for its limited seats in the B.Sc Research program.
But dont worry if your rank is below 1000 in jee mains you will easily get seat at IISC.
now coming to JEE Main eligibility you must have passed your 12th-grade examination with PCM and appear for the exam within a three year period following your 12th grade.
