Yes, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology provides merit based scholarships to deserving candidates. There are different scholarships criteria available:
- Scholarships on the basis of JEE score in the first year
- Aggregate Marks > 90% on the basis of JEE score in the first year.
- First 10% of admitted students in each discipline on the basis of ranking by TIET. The students must also have ≥ 85% in aggregate at 10+2 level.
- Aggregate Marks > 95% in 10+ 2. Student of BTech (Biotecnology) on the basis of NEET score in the first year.
- Gross family income ≤ 8.00 lac. Given on the basis of ascending order of income.
- To deserving cases not covered in “Merit Scholarships”. Including girls having Single Girl child status. Gross family income ≤ 8.00 lac.
