The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) Delhi Centre was established in 1974. It is a premier institute for research and training in the fields of Statistics, Mathematics, and Economics. The institute offers courses in these fields at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, and has its own library, computer centre, and student affairs office. ISI Delhi Centre is affiliated to the ISI Kolkata, which is an Institution of National Importance as per an act of the Indian Parliament in 1959.
The institute is renowned for its quality of teaching, research, and training, and its faculty consists of some of the leading mathematicians, statisticians, and economists of India. It offers a number of academic programs under the Economics and Planning Unit, and the Stat-Math Unit, as well as a Certification Program on Business Analytics, Data Mining, and Operations Research. It also has a Placement Cell to assist students with job placements.

ISI offers several scholarships and fellowships for students pursuing its academic programs. In addition, stipends are also provided to students. The Institute provides Doctoral Fellowships to students working on research topics in statistics and other related disciplines. Financial assistance is also available to students enrolled in the M.Tech. program in Computer Science and Scientific Computing. Other scholarships for students pursuing research programs are offered by the Institute and its Departments.
