Best college for engineering in Maharashtra

Posted on 18 Jun' 19 by Pankaj
Batch of 2014 | B.Tech Information Technology
COEP is the word you will remember for your entire life once you graduate from this top rated college in Pune. Take either Computer science or IT and you will not regret in your life. placements in these two branches are almost 90% with Average package of around 7 LPA and top 20% people getting more than 10 Lakhs per annum to be honest. Being the graduate from this college I strongly recommend this college if you are not getting top 7 IITs through JEE. Get very good score through MHT-CET and get into COEP that's it.

If you consider colleges from Maharashtra only (excluding IIT and NIT), CoEP is the best in every aspect. However a college of CoEP's stature should aspire aggressively for National recognition. The pros: 1) Out of the world extracurricular: Often there are so many things to do, you will find your head spinning deciding what to do and what not. 2) Campus: Located in the heart of the city, CoEP boasts a boat club of its own. The campus is very well maintained, the hostels are better than average. 3) Placement: If you do fairly well, you have a very good chance of landing one of the best jobs available in your area of expertise/engineering. The Cons: 1) Faculty: Even though some of the departments of CoEP have very good faculty members, others lack considerably. This not only affects the general attitude towards Engineering, it hampers the Institute's potential for research and future technical growth! 2) Placement: Even though the placement is good, it could very easily be improved by taking a few managerial clever decisions. In my 4 years here, I have seen that the faculty in charge of the placements is often too careless which costs people their whole career paths! But they didn't seem to care. 3) Focus on Research: I think CoEP in general lacks in it's focus on research. Most students just want a placement and most faculty member just want their salaries! All in all, CoEP is a good place to be. It has a good network of Alumnis and a lot of potential for improvement. I would love to see/contribute to CoEP growing in all possible ways! :) Cheers.

It is one of the oldest in India.....It is government autonomous college... Infrastructure is very old and give the feel of Hogwards in Harry potter series.... :-) Campus is nice, green and sheady but divided in many parts...traffic is the main problem while going to one part from other..... Hostel life is good... Food is also good and affordable.... The whole year is full of extra curricular events...there is technical fest called Mind Spark...cultural fest called Impressions...National level inter college sports fest Zest.... Boat Club is main attraction of college... It has a 89 years old fest called Regatta... And what not in college.... Definitely a wonderful college.. ...

A well rounded experience for a lifetime

The college provides state if the art laboratory facilities. Industry experts could take more lectures for undergrads so that they get a feel of the industry work ethic and standards. Apart from academics, the various fests and events that take place all over the campus round the year add to the excitement of college life. And in the end, I got an offer from networks company Parallel Wireless which was cherry on the cake. Facilities such as internet and round the clock canteen are provided at the hostel along with a safe and secure environment. The professors can teach in a more practical oriented manner. Student diversity doesn't matter much until students are smart and get in diverse technical skills in the industry. The college is affordable in terms of fees as well as other expenses such as living in Pune, eating out etc.

A perfect platform your extracurriculars but not your engine

Batch of 2018 | B.Tech Computer Engineering
A perfect blend of all extracurriculars for your holistic development but has a huge deficiency of good faculty to teach. Most of the faculty don't do research, let alone quality research. The infrastructure is good for an engineering college. The hostels for girls are good but are pathetic for boys. An excellent campus crowd with people from different backgrounds leaves you even more social and cognizant of their regions. COEP is recognized internationally and there are admits to great universities for higher education. Overall, it's the students who can be attributed the current fame of COEP.

One of The Most Dynamic Colleges in India

BhushanBhushan D Mahamuni

Batch of 2019 | B.Tech Electrical Engineering
COEP is the second oldest college in India. The speciality of this college is its dynamic nature. It has lots of Techinical and Non-technical clubs working properly. The total number of clubs are around 40. The college launched the first student-made satellite in India via ISRO in June 2016. The CSAT club was working on it. Also the college's Team Nemesis Racing came 9th in all over the world in a competition held in USA in 2016. Also in Robocon 16 , which is national robotics competition, COEP came out to be second. These are some recent achievements of college. Also every year ample of students crack UPSC, CAT and GATE. 2016's CAT AIR 1 is from COEP. Nearly about 150+ Civil Servents i.e UPSC crackers are working in every part of the world and the nation who are alumni of COEP. There is a club for Civil Service Aspirants in the college named CSAC. Arts n Crafts club, cultural team, drama team etc are there to take care of your hobbies. Mindspark (technical), Impressions(cultural), Zests(sports) and the most famous Regatta(a boat club event) are the events happening every year in the college. College has its own boat club. Rowing, Kayaking, Punting and Mashaal Dance are attractions of Regatta. NSS, Spandan, Janiv, SWF etc are some social clubs. Various lecture series, camps etc are arranged by these clubs. Also each department has it's own club of students. The hostel life is also nice. With the best food and best internet quality available all over the campus. Sports is also speciality of COEP where you can enjoy any sport you love. Placements are best. No student will remain unplaced unless he/she wishes to do so ;) The faculties are good. The atmosphere in college is awesome. Seniors will always be there to help you. There's no ragging or even teasing also. Nothing like junior-senior is here. Thus, COEP is the best of its kind. It is dynamic, it is best !

Reviewing COEP

Posted on 28 Jan' 17 by Sanket Mandhania
Batch of 2019 | B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
COEP is one of the oldest engineering colleges in Asia, after IIT Roorkee. You will be surprised to know, but when you ask a COEPian or an alumni about what he loves most about the college, you will get a unanimous answer - it's extra curricular activities. From designing vehicles that compete in international student events and stand out at the top, designing robots every year and winning accolades at the national technical events, giving awesome performances at the state & national level events of arts, dance & music, to having a separate club for astronomy lovers, you name any activity & COEP has a club for it! We even have our own boat club where you can improve your kayaking skills.

Which college and why

Posted on 28 Jan' 17 by Nishant Ughade
Batch of 2019 | B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
My institute provides a fantastic opportunity for all-round development. It has used the freedom afforded to it as an autonomous institution judiciously, providing a range of subjects and electives we would need to have an edge in the corporate world. Guest lectures are held frequently and the college has a good placement record. The only thing it lacks is a good infrastructure. Since it has no gate or board announcing the college name, it is not very well-known among the locals though it is one of the best colleges around. There are also many opportunities to develop one's all-round personality in the college. There is a wide range of fests and events which are all completely student-managed, due to which almost every student in the institute learns some managerial skills along the way.

Academics in coep good or bad

II am a third year electrical student and git admission here in the first round . I wanted this college as all ma nigga's were here. They told me to get good marks in boards to get admission here and so i worked hard and came here. Frankly speaking teachers can be disappointing ,many subjects you'll have to cover yourself. Scoring is not that difficult as long you study average. Other activities are good.

COEP is a brand. COEP, we all know the progress of the college. College basically lags in infrastructure, but college is adding its budget to improve its infra by renewing it. The student crowd is amazing. Students are intelligent having some desire with them. Being with such students made my life enjoyable. They all help each other. Placements are good, about 85% students get placed.

The best college

COEP with its own cultural is the best college since many years. The infrastructure of the college is somewhat poor because it's made 160 years ago. College provides graduation and undergraduate programs. The best part is that the college is autonomous, which means that it has its own world. College doesn't only give importance to academics but it helps to grow in various fields such as sports, art, music etc. I always recommend this college for every student.

The college was established 160 years ago and it stands at the top engineering colleges in India. The college has nearly more than 2000 students each year. Students come here to learn both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The college has well-educated teachers with the Ph.D. degree in hands. The infrastructure of the college is not so good because it was built many years ago. The students come here by passing with high marks in perspective exams so that college has talented students. Getting this college for your further education will be a great choice.

If you have the curiosity to explore this college has a lot to offer! Plus the college is constantly improving its facilities, overall ranking and you get good intellectual folks to hang out most of the times. Few professors here are really helpful and supportive. Try to fetch as much knowledge-experience you can from these people. And there are a lot of activities over the campus to tune your overall personality.

One of the oldest Autonomous engineering colleges in Asia established in 1854. Has excellent ROI with the best teaching faculty. COEP is known for its extra curricular activities. From designing vehicles that compete in international events and stand out at the top, designing robots every year and winning accolades at the national technical events to making satellites that are established in the space with the help of ISRO. Good placements, well design of syllabus, Facilities (Boat-Club, Cafeteria, decent wifi, etc) and most important is the Research opportunities.I think all of the above lines are enough to tell about how the college is.

Good relationships with the industry help in internship and placements. I received an offer from Tata Motors Limited. Gym, mess, TV and sports room in the hostel. Extra practical approach rather than theoretical. Since it is a government college, fees are pretty less and you get scholarships according to merit.
