The college lives up to the expectations of being an NIT in placements, student crowd and in some departments, the faculty. But it fails miserably when it comes to infrastructure, with under-equipped labs and sparse buildings. The curriculum is very outdated as well. All in all, you can do great things at the college if you have the drive.

Our infrastructure is not good in respect to an NIT. It should be a lot better. To provide better exposure they should start teaching relevant and latest subjects and technologies required by industry. Placements should get better every year with more opportunities. More hostels are needed in the college. Better sports facilities too are needed. Professors should start teaching for the sake of teaching not just for making test papers. College fees is continuously increasing so must be the facilities.

NIT Raipur is a great place to study, and develop your personality. If you come to this college, you will never be bored, with events happening all year. And abundance of opportunities to take part in extra curricular activities such as Sports, Dance, Music and even Entrepreneurship. The only bad thing is poor infrastructure and lack of hostel rooms.

Infrastructure of our college is not that good but so many things happen all over the year like fests by different committees, workshops, seminars, etc.... makes college life really enjoyable and hostel facility is also not that good there are insufficient hostels for all students ,so hostels are allotted on the basis of score card of odd semesters every year ,Category is also an important factor for hostel allotment in this college, talking about placement conditions are really good for software students.Mechanical, mining, civil, electrical, metallurgy has also good placement, talking about college life there are so many committees to join , organizing events and workshops with your team is a great experience you will learn a lot from them in our college

NIT Raipur Review

It is a very good college in it's own way. The Infrastructure is satisfactory but the campus is small when compared to other NITs due to lack of land to expand it. The teaching is good but one has to have a grip on Hindi if he/she has to understand the subject coz most of the explanation is done in Hindi. The placements are okay but there is no 100% placement. 6/10 can be awarded for the NIT Raipur.

Everything is mediocre, you need to make the best of it.

The college in itself is mediocre like said in the title itself except for the placements and college life. Pros:- 1.Good placements, especially if you are from CS/IT or Electrical/Mechanical department. 2.A plethora of fests in the college to enjoy and take breather from studies. 3.Located in the city, so you can easily find places to hang out around the college. Cons:- 1.Infrastructure is pathetic, no separate buildings for departments. Labs are underfurnished. 2.Intime of hostel for girls is 8pm, which is very early. 3. Library is very understocked, its hard to get books.

The title says it all. NIT Raipur is a wonderful place if you area go-getter, if you are proactive. Being one of the NITs, the colege in itself slightly below par when judged in terms of the stature. Pros:- 1. Placements -- The placement is better than average, and certain departments like CSE,IT,Mechanical have recently enjoyed exponential growth in the number of offers. Plus there's been an influx of companies offering good paychecks as well. 2. College Life -- There's not much inside the campus to do, but the campus itself is in the city, so you can easily find places to hangout and eat nearbuy. 3. Fests -- There are fests and numerous other smaller activities throughout theyear. So yiu will never get bored. Cons :- 1. Lack of Infrastructure. I dont think i need to put more in here. 2. Faculties -- There are a lot of faculties with loads of experience and knowledge. But they've become complacent in their approach and hardly teach the students with zeal. 3. The syllabus and curriculum are ancient.

I have joined here in july17.college atmosphere is friendly and anyone can get adjusted here without homesickness. Institute has all required facilities.Right now hostel accommodation is only available if you are in top50% of the class. But there are adequate facilities around to stay even though.Enjoyment is at it best.I hadn't felt bored for a single min.Institue with highest no. Of branches with all requirements.Institute's Fests are central india's largest (Aavartan(Technical)+eclectika (cultural)+samar(sports)).overall it is an institute which satisfies a technical student.

This is a average-good college, it is upto your caliber to make the most out of your time at the college. The facilities are adequate and faculty is knowledgeable. The infrastructure is like any average government institution, but it is improving and will be among the very good ones in near future. This may not be a dream college for many as compared to IITs or private institutions, but it is good enough, given you are serious. Moreover this is good value for money.

College provided the best in class infrastructure with all the modern amenities as per requirement assumed by the students ( e.g. - wifi, canteen etc.). College provides a good opportunity for industrial visits and training in almost all the PSUs as well as Private Corporations. Meeting with intellectuals from almost all the parts of the country and few NRIs too. The blend of culture and education made these 4 years look very awesome. I received an offer from Vedanta Limited as Graduate Engineer Trainee. I think our hostels have everything.

Batch of 2017 | B.Tech Civil Engineering
The location of the institute is one of the best in the city, at appropriate distance from all essential amenities. The institute offers 11 B.Tech courses in different streams, B.Arch and few M.Tech and PHD courses. The faculty is well qualified and are dedicated to attending the needs of the students, in classroom and out. I personally can say about civil department, we have some very qualified and most helpful faculty members albeit some (1-2) don't really maintain the quality expected. The scope for research projects under faculty is broad and really helpful for personal and societal growth. The placement record of the campus is unquestionably the best in the state (CG) and the graph shows definite scope of rising as more and more reputed firms and organisations have shown their interest in on-campus recruitment. A lot of new facilities are being developed, e.g. Addition of new sports facilities/grounds etc. The hostel timings are a bit restrictive, especially for the girls. To sum up, if you want to join an engineering institute, look no further than NIT Raipur, because you can't have any better

This college has a good reputation in state however not a good ranking otherwise. Almost all students of higher ranking branches get placement here..not mentioning the package. Here many events are conducted by different committes ..many fests are organized..faculty is above average here..most of them are very supporting..students are hardworking as well..this institute'students have given many highly successful startups.

The college life here is awesome , at first i felt restarting school again but then series of events begun and we came to realise the fun of being in to a college. Every weekend we have something new to do . Although the infrastructure might not satisfy the tag of an NIT but to inform you under Mission 2020 new campus is being constructed in Naya Raipur and that is going to be awesome . Hostel allotment is a major problem we all know but still in new campus that wont be the problem .

National Institute of Technology Raipur

The quality of faculties is definitely not of NIT standard and is only slightly above average. The crux lies in the fact that faculties have a hard time to build an intriguing class. That being said, yes most teachers are helping who asks to explore beyond studying. Student connect : Phew ! Had a hard time to get what it is, still, couldn't make out, therefore, will relate it in three ways. Intra student connection is certainly top notch. Most of the seniors know their juniors and vice versa, fortunately, relationship extends just not between a senior and a just junior batch but even final year and freshers' batch (though feeble). Inter student connection is very weak. Despite NIT Raipur and IIM Raipur in close proximity, there is no exchange of ideas. Same is the case with upcoming AIIMS Raipur. Student connects with the administration is average. There are no official bodies, however, there are many other committees which work closely with administration and are willing to help in other challenges as well. Industry connects : For some of the core branches (mining, metallurgy, civil etc.) there is good industry connect and for rest only a few colleges have a connection. Living experience: Objectively the whole experience sucks but subjectively and eventually you start to cope, live and enjoy it. In a very unintended and disguised way, it teaches you a lot. The Library is poorly maintained and no on-line material is purchased which makes some students explore the free side and exploit more from faculties. Infrastructure is poor, labs weren't maintained, hostel issues. However, the new Director has enormously paced the work regarding infrastructure and change can be seen quarterly. Placement performance: Internship trend is picking up these days for only IT and CS branch. View on placement highly depends if you're looking for a job or career. 70% of students ends up getting placement offer from campus and 10% student manage to make it off campus. However very few end up having the career they wanted. Barring a few, college's alumni are very week, however, in the recent session, many new well-known companies visited the campus. Masked message: Though it seems that the situation is very perturbing but for a student to rise and learn, it's a very good chance. You can easily climb the stairs because of low competition and get the know-how of the situations, however, don't forget the reality.

Decent college for an engineering!

NIT Raipur is a very good college for one who is looking for the engineering career in electronics, computer science, mechanical and other core branches. The college infrastructure is very good as it was a GCET previously. The faculty was also very experienced, except a few assistant lecturers. The hostel facilities and sports grounds are simply superb. Food is very good for a north Indian, but southerners should try and adjust. College life is very beautiful with awesome friends and experiences.

Located on awesome location, Raipur city is really a pleasure to go through college days. It was recently converted to NIT from regional college, so many NIT level facilities were yet to be availed. Has a great placement track record especially in core sector. A great place to make your career and spend four years of graduation.

Every person's life take a turn at some stage and for me turn came when I came to college. Here I learned about the ups and downs of life. My college wasn't exactly as I expected but I can say it has given me more than I expected. Now about the college like other colleges, it has a big campus but the infrastructure was old fashioned. Lastly, I would say I had a great college life and also the education provided is good. I am happy to be part of it.

Infrastructure wise it has to improve in adding more hostels,a proper sufficient auditorium and labs with more improvised material & equipment in it.By having interesting seminars on our subjects and having more technical competitions with guidance from professors. If the above claims were improved then automatically students knowledge exposure to the subject changes and helps many companies to reach us.Not enough Hostels available.Professors who encourages for more out of box thinking and having a great knowledge in them.

My college was previously a state government college which was later converted into NIT, because of which the college has just average infrastructure (improvements are going on). Faculty is good. My college lacks a proper attitude towards sports with almost no sports infrastructure and equipment. Still the overall experience in my college is awesome with good On-campus hostel experience.

There should be an improvement in Lab facilities ,Quality Faculties .However infrastructure wise some changes are being brought recently. Industrial tours should be promoted. The crowd is enjoyable.College should focus more on the core companies and value added companies .Food in college hostels must be improved. The out timings for girls should be extended. In terms of exam fee and hostel fees the college is affordable but still it has to improve a lot to be at a level of a NIT

Compared to many colleges it is better. But it lacks proper hostel and library facilities. Though it takes time to construct new hostels, college management must provide hostel facilities to at least all the girl students. While most of the Asc.Professors are excellent at teaching and stirring up interest on subjects, there are some temporary faculties who doesn't qualify for the range of a NIT. It is also the reason why students are not allowed to take up an elective of their choice. The curriculum fully equips a student with all the knowledge to pursue higher studies or a job in his/her respective branch. But most of the companies which visit the college belong to IT sector, so curriculum should include some IT subjects too as electives. An advantage of the college is it's proximity to the city of Raipur. This brings many renowned coaching institutes for GATE,CAT nearer to the college. Also, there are a number of student clubs in the college.Annual fest Eckletika is a refreshing experience. Overall it is a good experience.
