      The college is pretty great.

      College Infrastructure

The university is great and is at the heart of the city, the faculty is great and supportive. It would be a very great experience after 12 th to live in campus and have good natured people around you. Definitely a good place for growing and learning things both academically and personally.

      Academics

Academics are very nice. It’s a great place to start your undergrad, the faculty is extraordinary will give you their own personal growth experiences and connect well with the students. Teaching and the syllabus is very great.

      Placements

Placements are good basically on a scale of 1 to 10, it’s 6 somewhere, is highly based on the course you have selected for yourself to grow in. The science stream and the research side is very great, a very good place to grow if you are interested in phd etc. For social sciences also a very good start as the university is politically active.

      Value for Money

The courses offered are very affordable keeping aside the courses for MBA also the amount required to stay in hostels is also very affordable

      Campus Life

The campus life is really good, SUKOON the fest is UOH’s heart and soul. It’s a three day fest where we have holidays and so much fun. The hostel life is pretty great as there are no restrictions or time constraints based on genders. It’s a very great place to grow personally

It's a great university. I highly recommend it.

      College Infrastructure

The college infrastructure is good in the new buildings but the old buildings need some improvement specially in the washrooms. The new buildings are very well built, very clean and well ventilated. The older building are a bit dirty. We have facilities like 24x7 library and reading room, very good laboratories, very practical and we have sport centres for many different sports and a gym too. Wifi is provided everywhere and we'll maintained. The food is okayish the hygiene needs improvement

      Academics

I am studying psychology because I want to help people dealing with mental health issues as it is not talked about much. Our teachers are very polite and understanding and are very professional yet friendly. The curriculum is good. I feel like they should expand the specialisation but yeah, the teachers are very clear with their concept and we understand it very well.

      Placements

Placement is good in other courses but we don't have placement for psychology as the placement companies ask way too much money for placement arrangement in the field of psychology. But other courses have good placement as far as I know.

      Value for Money

My course fee per year is around 12-17k. The hostel and mess fees are different. Hostel fee per year is around 1-2k and the mess fee per year is around 18-24k. It is value for money because we are getting a lot of facilities at so less cost. They can improve mess a little like the hygiene of food otherwise it's fine.

      Campus Life

The campus life is excellent. We don't have strict rules about bedtime etc which makes it easy for us to manage our studies according to our convenience and the campus is pretty safe. I've had multiple walks around the campus during summers to get some fresh air after studying around like 2am and I walked alone for 5-6kms and I never felt threatened or unsafe. It does have it's own cons like getting influenced by people but ya that's an individual thing which can be controlled. Students have the freedom to engage in numerous activities. There are so many I can't name them all. Students are good, we work like a team. Teachers are very understanding atleast in psychology field.

College's infrastructure is well developed just I would like to see more number Of CCTV camera inside the campus. Living space is clean and the food is average. The new buildings's aesthetic is pleasing as well as the facilities compared to the old ones.

      Academics

I'm studying psychology, the labs that we had is one of the best learning experience I've had.our curriculum is updated it covers both the theoretical part as well as practical approach oriented in the form of labs .

      Placements

Don't hope that you'll get placed from the University. You've to hustle on your own professors might help you in the process though. There is no such placement cell for us psychology people in the university.

      Value for Money

Absolutely the campus is awesome. It costs me around 5k per semester depending on the even or odd sem little bit more or less than 5k . I just mentioned about the semester's fee though . Apart from it even if you include mess fees + room rent an average should of 11-12k .

      Campus Life

If you love living around surrounded by nature . You'll love our campus for sure . The fests they do try hosting we have one big fest named as sukoon . Apart from it there is also some or the other cultural sports events are going inside the campus. The location is great railway station is 15 minutes away .

      The best university so far

      College Infrastructure

The infrastructure of the university is quite good. The campus is very large, green, and peaceful. There are good classrooms, libraries, laboratories, hostels, and sports facilities. The campus has everything that students need for their studies and daily life. However, because the campus is very big, travelling from one place to another can sometimes take time.

      Academics

Academics are one of the strongest points of the university. The teachers are knowledgeable and supportive, and students get many opportunities to learn beyond textbooks. The courses are well designed, and there is a good focus on research and practical learning. Students who are serious about their studies can benefit a lot from the academic environment here.

      Placements

Placement opportunities are also fairly good. Many companies visit the campus, especially for courses related to management, computer science, and some science subjects. The placement cell helps students with internships, training, and job preparation. While placements are not equally strong in every department, overall the university provides decent career opportunities.

I think the best years of my life have been spent here.

      College Infrastructure

In terms of infrastructure, the university has a large and beautiful campus spread over several hundred acres, providing a peaceful and green environment for learning. The classrooms, laboratories, libraries, hostels, and research facilities are generally well-maintained and cater effectively to students' academic needs. The campus also offers sports facilities, healthcare services, and various student amenities. However, due to the vast size of the campus, transportation and maintenance of some facilities can occasionally be challenging.

      Academics

Academically, the University of Hyderabad is one of the leading institutions in India, especially known for its postgraduate and research programs. The faculty members are highly qualified and actively involved in research and scholarly activities. The curriculum encourages critical thinking, interdisciplinary learning, and independent research. Students benefit from seminars, workshops, conferences, and collaborations with reputed institutions. While the academic standards are excellent, some students may find the coursework rigorous and demanding.

      Placements

Placements at the university are good, particularly in fields such as management, computer science, economics, and certain science disciplines. Many reputed companies, research organizations, and public sector institutions participate in campus recruitment.

For contemporary practice good not for traditional medium

      College Infrastructure

Water cooler rarely works. No cameras even though there was theft and vandalism. Not enough fans. Not enough lights. Studio is good. ACs not working. WiFis doesn't work all the time. Old hostels are prison cells.

      Academics

Students are judged according to their attendance and showmanship. Faculties are biased and doesn't visit the studios regularly. HOD gave us 5 earthen pots instead of fixing the water cooler. Whatever we ask for they we don't have fund. One faculty said- Are you saving your parents' money? Even group critiques are biased. Even in case of vandalism, they didn't really took any action.

University of Hyderabad, MA sociology integrated

      College Infrastructure

About University of Hyderabad The campus is a massive 2,300-acre forest-like expanse in Gachibowli. For a hosteler, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Library is essentially your second home; it’s one of the largest in India and stays open 24/7, which is a blessing during mid-semester grinds. While the academic buildings like the CIS and the Social Sciences block are well-equipped with Wi-Fi and smart boards, the hostels can be a mixed bag. Some older hostels have maintenance issues, but the new ones are decent, and you usually share a room with one other person. You’ll rely heavily on the free internal shuttle buses to get from the South Campus (where we stay) to the North Campus for classes.

      Academics

Sociology here isn't just about reading books; it's about unlearning your biases. As an "Integrade," your first two years are diverse—you’ll take courses in other social sciences alongside core sociology subjects like "Introduction to the Study of Society" and "Changing Indian Family". The faculty are top-tier researchers who encourage you to question everything, though the 75% attendance rule is strictly enforced. The evaluation is continuous, with three internals and one final exam (FAT) per semester, totaling around 216 credits over five years. It’s a research-heavy environment where professors treat you like a scholar-in-the-making from day one.

      Placements

people don’t come to UoH Sociology specifically for corporate placements; they come for the UPSC prep or Academia. That said, the university has an active placement cell. While tech and MBA students grab the high packages (averaging ₹6–10 LPA), Sociology students often find roles in NGOs, research institutes, and media houses. Factual data shows integrated students often have a placement rate of around 67% across the university, with median packages for 5-year courses hitting approx. ₹6.25 LPA. Many of my seniors eventually head abroad for PhDs or clear the NET-JRF to stay in research

      Campus Life

Life here is vibrant, political, and very "late-night." Between 9:00 PM and 2:00 AM, the "Shop-Com" (shopping complex) or the night canteens are buzzing with debates over chai. There’s a certain thrill in exploring spots like Mushroom Rock or Peacock Lake during breaks. The annual fest Sukoon is the highlight of the year, bringing the whole campus together for cultural events. You’ll meet people from every corner of India, and the student politics—while sometimes intense—really teaches you about grassroots democracy and social justice in a way no classroom can.

      College Infrastructure

The campus is beautiful and greenery, it feels like a peaceful retreat away from city noise. The university provides decent hostel facilities, well-maintained libraries, computer labs, seminar halls, and lecture rooms.

      Academics

The University of Hyderabad is well-known for its academic environment. The professors here are experienced, supportive, and quite approachable. The curriculum is regularly updated, keeping in mind the latest developments in various fields.

      Placements

When it comes to placements, it largely depends on the department. Courses like Management, Computer Science, Economics, and Communication see better placement records, with companies like Deloitte, TCS etc.

The experience was amazing and i enjoyed the time here

      College Infrastructure

The infrastructure is not good, it is equipped with all the facilities like sports complex, gym, amphitheater, yoga centre and many more, the conditions of the hostels are average. Few are good but some have very poor condition. Wifi is available all over the campus. Living space is not so good for some hostels.

      Academics

The course MA Financial Economics is good for the corporate aspirations. They teach you rigorous finance related subjects. The professors are well qualified. The curriculum is updated regularly. Research papers are taught alongside the reading material.

      Placements

Placements are not so good here, you can grab the internship from here but for the placements, there is very much competition due to the batch size. The percentage of students placed is 15%. Highest package went was 14 lpa. Average salary is 5 lpa. No idea about the process.

      Value for Money

Per year it costed me 60 thousands. Yes i feel it is worth taking admission here. You get much exposure and support from the professors. The course is very much helpful for the government services examinations.

      Campus Life

Best features about the campus are its infrastructure and area, the campus is green and beautiful. There are many activities and sports events. Students are from all the states, we have diversity. Staff members are very humble and polite. Yes it is safe and can handle emergency.

      Others

      I highly recommend this university.

      Placements
