NIT Durgapur Placements

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur has a Career Development Centre that guides the students through the process of placements. NIT Durgapur’s placement drives are conducted every year for the final year students. NIT Durgapur placement drives are organised for the students who are there in the seventh semester or are at the beginning of the final year.

Interested companies have to fill up the Job Announcement Form (JAF) and then submit the necessary details to the NIT Durgapur placement cell. The visiting companies also conduct pre-placement talks before the final round of interviews at NIT Durgapur. After the interviews, the list of shortlisted candidates is released. The NIT Durgapur average package is offered for students at each level. The NIT Durgapur placements are offered for UG and PG students. The institute offers NIT Durgapur summer internship opportunities for deserving students on campus.

During Covid in the year 2020-2021 the placement was drastically degraded due to inefficient engagement of placement committee. Though the placement are good in other branches like Computer science and IT.

Placement is good. You can easily grab 8 to 9 lpa packages. Many companies comes there , mostly are banks, like icici, asix, hdfc, federal etc. Company like amul, come to the campus. 100% placement every year. Summer internship are goods . You can get either paid or unpaid internship.

Placement are good in NIT Durgapur. There is almost 85% placement are there. Highest number of placement from CSE and ECE . Highest salary offered is more than 50lpa by Microsoft. Career development cell is looking for placement.

Hello,
The cut off in 2020 to qualify in JEE Main for SC category was 50.1760245 percentile. In 2021 the expected qualifying percentile for SC category will be between 50-55. Based on our JEE Main Rank Predictor tool you need to score minimum 25-30 marks or above to score such percentile. The minimum cutoff to qualify JEE Mains 2019 for the sc category is 31-36 marks . To secure a seat in one of the NITs, IIITs or GFTIs with a Respectable Branch, being from SC Category you must target a SC Rank of atleast 7k. For the SC Rank, the corresponding CRL will be anywhere around 150-160k, and a Percentile Target of atleast 85-86.

Outside state - 8215
(99.2 percentile)
So for home state students a marks of about 135 - 145 , and for outside candidates a marks of about 155 - 165 will get you CSE at NIT Durgapur. But to remind, exact marks requirement may be different in different shifts of paper, as per level of difficulty.

The above answer was put up in 2021, based on marks vs rank data of 2020. But as per present data in 2021 and 2022 , you need at least 25 marks more for getting same ranks. Moreover there is big variation in different shifts of exam , as per difficulty of paper. Even 1520 marks variation is seen in some shifts. So advisable to keep yourself updated on current trends. As of in 2017 closing rank in 1st round was about 9.8k . So for getting in before this you must score at least 200 . So try targeting a base score of about 250 or a bit less according to your preparations . If you even slightly fall from your base score you may still be getting quite decent score of 200+ for getting in your aspired college and branch.

Hello,

Both placements and internships are identical in this regard. Opportunities are available at both locations if you are intelligent and eager to learn. Avoid being duped by an ordinary package. The majority of them have exaggerated CTCs and abuse numbers. See which employers hire, how many, and for what positions. I'll claim that they are nearly identical. However, there are more men with the 8LPA+ package in Bhopal.

Overall, MANIT has a modest advantage as a university.
