Our college have all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipments. We have all facilities like air conditioner black boards in classrooms , as i am a computer science student in our college computers are there , library having 5 to 6 stack rooms and air conditioners in libraries. Sports we have two grounds named as ovals and lords. In hostel facilities we have bed table and chair wifi is there but air conditioner is not there. The food is not so much hygienic in hostels and the living space specially in boys hostel its not so clean.
I am studying Computer Science and engineering. The quality of teaching i would say is okay , like some teachers are good and some are bad.Yes every thing is up to date. i do leet code and practice. Teachers are supportive caring . They teach through projectors and some teachers teach by board.
The quality of placement is good. 100%. students are placed and highest package is around 56 to 58LPA \average salary offered is 22LPA placement process are difficult and college are supportive. College are giving time to students they do vocational training for students . In intern also from our btch many of them got internships. our senior batch 2022-2026 batch they got 100% placement.
All facilities were available for students, and the infrastructure of the college was also super. Wi-Fi, classrooms, and the library were all available in the college. The food made in the college canteen was so tasty. The medical facilities were available. Sports and games were also present in the college , inter faculty game is also conducted on college ground
Teachers help us in many ways. They try to teach us and help us to solve our doubts if we have any personally. The course curriculum is very good and makes us follow the course and sync it with the industry routine. The semesters are difficult. The pass percentage is relatively low, but they provide necessary guidance as well career counseling etc
Placement cell is the best and is maintained by faculty members of the college. Around 60% of students got higher placement in reputed companies and 20% of students got average placement. The highest package goes 60 LPA and the average is 7 LPA-8 LPA. Some best opportunities also arranged from outside to conduct a placement drive and find better candidate among us
The college infrastructure is beautiful because it has many glass building , play grounds and separate girls and boys hostel. Each and every truth is surrounded by Green trees and well maintained regularly.
The academics within the colleges is quite good moreover provide regular practical classes takes attendance of minimum 75% and above . It also has beautiful classroom like IIT Bombay with Central conditioned AC and with speakers and mic due to which each and everyone can hear teachers voice then it also provide us Wi-Fi smart board etc
Since I am a 1st year student so I don't have much information about the placement but as per the previous year states provided by NIT Durgapur , the placements are much decent like other NITs and sometime it may varies also .
As the fees is too much less cause it's a government college it's 100% value for money because it always guarantee a good placement if you study well .
The hostel fees is 14500 per year as the price is quite affordable for per year for that it's a value for money but it's also give us over protection due to which sometime we feel embarrassed and feel like we are staying within a jail .
Overall the college is good but the hostel security is too much tight for that we couldn't go outside of the college , secondly the academics is quite good for that we don't face any problem so overall it's a nice college and you should try to get admission with in this college for your future betterment.
The campus boasts modern infrastructure with well-equipped laboratories, smart classrooms, and a comprehensive library stocked with the latest resources. High-speed Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the campus, facilitating seamless online learning. Hostel facilities are commendable, offering clean rooms and hygienic food. Sports complexes and recreational areas are well-maintained, promoting a balanced student life.
Pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science, the curriculum is regularly updated to align with industry standards, incorporating emerging technologies like Al and Machine Learning. Professors are highly qualified and approachable, often integrating practical projects to enhance understanding. Regular workshops and seminars supplement academic learning, preparing students for real-world challenges.
The placement cell is proactive, organizing training sessions and mock interviews to prepare students. In the recent placement drive, approximately 85% of students secured offers from reputed companies like Infosys, TCS, and Wipro. The highest package offered was 58 LPA, with an average of 10 LPA. Internship opportunities are abundant, providing valuable industry exposure.
With an annual fee of approx 2 lakhs, the college offers substantial value through quality education, infrastructure, and placement opportunities. Scholarships and financial aid are available for meritorious and needy students, making education accessible and worthwhile.
Campus life is vibrant, with numerous clubs and societies catering to diverse interests, from coding to cultural arts. Annual fests and inter-college competitions foster a spirit of camaraderie and creativity. The campus is secure, with 24/7 surveillance and medical facilities, ensuring student safety and well-being.
NIT Durgapur has some very old buildings, but the newly formed Academic block, utkarsh bhawan is very good infrastructures. Library also good. Senior hostels are little bit less maintained, but hostels for 1st year and 2nd years are good.
Sometimes it's hectic, but mostly it's easy to cope up with. Yes, some core branches have busy schedules, somehow they have to manage it. Other than that, most of the department have more or less same pressure.
For my branch, i.e Metallurgy Department have good placement percentage, circuital branches also have good placement. Recently some branches having less placement percentage but, with time, I think it'll be better.
It's okay according to the money we pay every semester .
Some good spots are there in the campus to roam around.
The infrastructure of our college is quite good, especially for the biotechnology department. Our building is relatively new and well-maintained. It houses modern labs equipped with the necessary instruments and machines required for the practical and research. The classrooms are spacious and have proper ventilation. The overall environment is clean and conducive to learning. Apart from academics, the campus also provides good facilities for overall student development. There is a well-equipped gym available for students, along with games. The college also has centrally air-conditioned library with vast collection of books, journals, and digital resources ,offering a comfortable and quiet environment for studying. The only problem is many of the buildings are quite old so u may feel a bit underwhelmed.
I can honestly say that in the biotechnology department, the academics are one of the best parts. The teachers are really supportive and know their stuff well. They don't just teach from slides- they actually try to make us understand the concepts and get interested in the subject, Thanks to their efforts, many of us have started genuinely enjoying biotech, and a few students even go for higher studies because of the kind of motivation and clarity we get from our faculty.
When it comes to placements for the biotech branch, they're not that great, to be honest. Its mainly because biotech is more of a research oriented field, so there aren't as many core opportunities through the campus placements. That said, people who actively try by applying off-campus or through internships do manage to get good jobs, though the starting salaries might be less. Many students also prefer to go for higher studies or research roles instead of corporate roles.
The annual fees are around rupees 6-7 lakhs, which is definitely on the higher side. But considering its a college of national importance with good infrastructure, faculty and opportunities, i do fell like we get the best out of our money. Not to mention the huge alumni network you are going to be a part off.
Campus life is honestly the best part of college and its no different here. The campus is always buzzing with energy, whether its day or night, there's always something happening, be it fests club activities or just people and some 'birds' chilling around. The seniors are really helpful and approachable and there's a strong sense of community among the students. Its a great place where u are going to make memories that's will last for Ur entire life and friends who u would never forget.
Not par with the NIT standard. Sports could be better, lots of unutilized area in campus. Academics is good, most professors are interactive. Good club culture, allows student to learn outside of academics.
Interactive professors. There are many professors available. They teach good and their materials are good too. You can do research intern under your departmental professors too which will help in cv and resume.
Good placement for almost all branches except for Biotech and civil. Just maintain a good cgpa and strong skills might help in getting a software job, I am not sure about core jobs though. Work hard.
Yes, NIT Durgapur has good and development well-equipped labs, smart classrooms, hostels, Wi-Fi, a central library, sports complex, and innovation hubs to support quality education and research across disciplines.
I'm studying B.Tech in \[Your Branch] at NIT Durgapur to build a strong tech career. Teaching is good, with supportive faculty. The curriculum is decent but needs updates to match latest industry trends and technologies.
NIT Durgapur's 2024 BTech placements were robust, with 72.08% of students placed. The average package stood at ₹7.35 LPA, and the highest reached ₹51 LPA. Top recruiters included Microsoft, Amazon, and Oracle. CSE students secured the highest average package of ₹21.45 LPA.
At NIT Durgapur, the annual cost for the B.Tech program varies based on family income and category. For general category students with a family income above ₹5 lakh, the tuition fee is ₹62,500 per semester, totaling ₹1.25 lakh annually. Additional charges, including hostel and other fees, bring the total annual cost to approximately ₹2.01 lakh
NIT Durgapur has a spacious green campus with modern labs, hostels, sports facilities, and a central library. Fests, clubs, tech events, and sports thrive. The downside: old buildings need renovation.
NIT Durgapur offers a strong academic environment with experienced faculty, good infrastructure, and diverse student activities. Placement records are impressive, especially for CSE. The campus is vibrant with cultural, technical, and sports events. Hostel life fosters community, though some facilities need upgrading. With ample opportunities for growth, research, and innovation, it's a great place for holistic development. A few infrastructural issues remain, but overall, it’s worth it.
Recently in NIT Durgapur the Research Excellence Building was inaugurated, which will positively impact the college reputation and overall ranking, the food quality in hostel mess is excellent and healthy, the college has two grounds for sports and a large library with numerous collections of books is present in the central library, Classroom are neat and clean and are digital.
In PhD in Materials Engineering each subject is taught by a teacher with a degree from a reputed foreign university who uses innovative teaching methods as well as practical methods, here are three types of exams: midterm, end-semester, and class assignments, a midterm course takes 1.5 months, and an end-of-semester exam occurs 4 months after classes beginning
This university is best because 100% placement is available across all sectors such as banking, telecom, FMCG, and leading marketing firms, some government visitors include HSBC, Access Bank, Just Dial, Eureka Forbes, Pwc, and Hfc are among others, many students receive 2-3 offers simultaneously and the average package can get upto 10 lakhs
Fees of NIT Durgapur is little bit higher if you can afford it then you can go for this university
The campus atmosphere of this NIT is fresh environment, events, festivals, and the connectivity between teachers and students make this campus truly beautiful and worth studying here you will enjoy being a part of NIT Durgapur
On of the best NIT in India which is also a beautiful place
Its a decent NIT with good infrastructure with good libraries canteen cafeteria hostel for boys and girls. Though class rooms are not in good position some are non ac room, benches are uncomfortable in 2025, but renovation is going on.
Academics level are very good, professors are all PHD holders, they are not only providing education they are giving life lessons, how to survive in real life, how to deal with real problem, they are good hhman beings.
Placements are not that good nut that bad, i am pursuing MBA having strength 36 people in our batch so for MBA batch placements are not a problem, but un engineering section placements are not that good.
Its a government college
It us fun
