A bit old but has classy British era vibes feels you are in a different era , quite and peaceful. Festivals are a joy here , culture is the best thing you get here and learn things apart from regular studies.

Academic is one of the strong point of this college with such an old alumini network and expanded research base it is good if you want to research , though equipments are old but the professor are the best.

Placements are good in this college . If you can get here , maintain a decent cgpa and don't get any back at the time of your placement i.e 7th semester you will definitely get placed here just be confident.

Probably one of the most value for money institute if you want college life with all basic necessity in affordable price , this institute will give you all those , also kolkata is just a bus away so after college time will also be fun.

Its difficult to describe in words but arguably of the best one can get , in the campus itself you get 3 lakes , a cemetery, 2 grounds , outside campus there is botanical garden , also there is one ghat also ,in short nature at its best.

I find the campus historical and beautiful, but the buildings are visibly very old and need modernization. My Electronics and Telecommunication labs have basic equipment, but I look forward to better instruments in later years. The library resources are vast and excellent for my studies. I know the infrastructure is average, but the heritage value is high.

I feel the academic environment is extremely intense and demanding right from the first year. My professors are highly respected, providing me with deep conceptual knowledge in circuits and network theory. The coursework is rigorous, preparing me for a strong engineering career. I believe the teaching quality and emphasis on fundamentals are pretty good.

I am highly optimistic about my future because of the university’s exceptional placement history. The brand name attracts all top technology and core engineering companies to campus. I know the highest salary packages are regularly achieved by my branch seniors. I believe the placement record is a massive guarantee for my career path.

I strongly believe this institute provides the absolute best value for money in the entire country. The extremely low tuition fees for the Bachelor of Technology degree are incomparable to the premium education I receive. I get great quality professors and stellar placement outcomes for a negligible cost. I think this financial advantage is unbeatable.

I love the unique, independent, and supportive campus culture that emphasizes student freedom. The numerous technical and cultural clubs are highly active, offering me many opportunities to take part. The campus is beautiful and sprawling, providing ample space for sports and relaxation. I feel the social life is vibrant and greatly enhances my experience.

It has moderate infrastructure not too good like other nits, like the spirit of Kolkata it is having old vibes as well as new developments. Classes of electrical are fully equipped with ACs and fans, green board and projector also. Machine Lab will give you old vibe, it has machines of 100 years old and all functional, well maintained. While the electronic labs are new(Not that old of machine lab). Sports : All the sports can be available in a college is there. hostels are fully equipped with wifi, washing machine, both type of washrooms and well maintained. Library is of both type E-library and normal library both comprised in single building. There is computer center is also in that building for online exams. and all the rooms in library is fully AC equipped. Not all books but all the books which are required for academic is there.

By Academics it is good and hardest subject in whole college, half of this is because of professor and rest is curriculum, but at the same time you will enjoy the branch if you try to dive into it.By research this college is already famous, and professor also want you to go with research not with jobs. There are some professors who are already teaching with 30+ years of experience and have patents of crores.

Placement is not as good as other colleges in this particular branch as already told this branch is dedicated for research, not big companies are coming except Texas Instruments. Average salary is about 8 lakhs

GOOD, Greenery all around, beautiful lakes and building is there, we have GANGA behind our college. We have various clubs, will make your life joyful at college and reduce the burden of academics. College is located in Howrah City, it is safe area but the outside the college you will not find anything good, like it is very local area, sometimes you will not find the things you are looking for.

My college have all necessary infrastructure, facilities and all. Lab and classrooms are good. Hostels are good but need improvement. New hostels now under construction. And Very Wifi all around the campus.

All the professor are highly educated and experienced. I am currently studying Civil Engineering. The professor of my department are very experienced and they are very helpful. They will reffer for internship also

Placement is kind of ok type. This year(2025) the on campus placement was very good . IT got the highest on campus package like arround 54 lakhs per annum. On my department the placement was good like moderate.

Infrastructure is not that much good to give it the fame of Institute of national importance. Several schools have very good infrastructure than this Institute. Being centralised, it has been 10 years now, the infrastructure is not improved yet.

Academically it is very strong. Very good curriculum and exams are being conducted with at most fairness. Several experienced profs are there. The main building of the college is big and old style but well maitained.The Science & Technology Building is modern, 8-storey tall, and houses several departments with smart classrooms and labs.The labs are fairly well equipped.

The strong academics of this college with great faculty and various courses like B.tech,M.tech, M.Sc,B.Sc, and B.Arch. As per NIRF 2024 this college has been ranked 49th among all the engineering institutes and 4th in Architecture and planning.

The placement of this college is very good as per this year the highest placement offered was 56lpa by Microsoft.We almost have 90-95 percent students placed every year irrespective of any branch. The average salary package for B.tech is 12lpa.

It is obviously value for money as it is much cheaper than private B.Tech colleges and even some NITs .The fees for entire btech degree is 2-3lakhs including hostel and even much cheaper if you do not include hostel fees.

This college has a beautiful and historic campus with an area of 123 acres.It is filled with greenery and has a rich heritage.There are 17+ hostels within the campus and the hostels are also quite good ..

Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology situated in Shibpur Having good infrastructure.Certainly lacks the facility & infrastructure of a top notch institute (refers to my dept.-archi), and heard a lot of complaints from my B.Tech friends about the placement department, which I presume is true to a large extent, although the new INI tag will be able to solve the problem, hopefully. But, students here get one hell of an experience of the hostel life, senior-junior relationship is something we learn to treasure and cherish.

The teachers have complete autonomy here. The examinations do not gauge your learning or your understanding - the marks you get, the manner in which you are treated is up to the professor and how cultured or ‘susheel’ you are in their eyes. Irk a prof, and fail your internals. That’s how it still goes around here.

Important placement opportunities are never communicated and emails are ignored or not forwarded to students who need them. The placement officer (still there) is an obnoxious and egotistical person. He does not feel the need to contact any companies, and would rather have companies contact him for placements.

Good college in Kolkata

Our college having great infrastructure with all the facilities are available. Library is very well maintained with all books and papers you need with space to study there as well. Hostels on the other hand really need serious maintainance. The food quality is very bad to average. Drinking water is not very good as well. There are no well made tables or chairs in hostels, you have to buy them on your own. For sports there are 2 big grounds where you can play cricket and football. There is separate court for basketball and one for badminton. Except these there isn't anything else in sports department.

My course is Masters of Technology in Geoinformatics Engineering. The curriculum is designed for the benifits of Students so that they get quality education in their field. Well the course might be a little complicated which is the case for the most governments colleges. The course helps in students disciplined lives .

Students are eligible for placement from the college from third semester onwards. The average package is around 8lpa and highest package offered this year was 58lpa. Many renowned companies such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, etc.For placement the college cell will ask you to register in Superset website. From your superset account you can apply for job and internships in different comapnies. there are more than 20 companies visited for placement this year. arround 80 percent students from my department were placed last year.

Great Infrastructure but placements should be improved as there was no placement in 2020 for Applied Geology. I am pretty sure the engineering departments are very much good at infrastructure but the university authorities must pay attention t the science departments as well.

Courses are good, professors were very much helpful. They will help you in many ways. not just academically. But we also share our personal problems with them too and ask their opinion. they were very patient to listen to their students problems like their own child,

Placements are needed to be improved. I am pretty sure there was huge placements happened in Engineering departments but in science departments there were no placements happened in 2020. I think they should focus on placements so that one student can achieve their goal.

Overall Institute is value for money but in case of Applied geology department I would not say it is value for money. Because the course fee is very much high and it is increasing every year. if the university take good care of placement issues for science department I am pretty sure it will be Value for money as well for science department students, but for engineering department students it is more than value for money.

One can enjoy campus life very much. We have a great library with huge book collection. Can study peacefully in library. Also there are many fests that happen throughout the year. One can enjoy those fests. other Amenities are pretty good. Also safe for female students.

The classrooms are clean and big as well as equipped with projectors. Some labs have very old and faulty equipments but we were able to manage. The computer labs on the other hand are upgraded with new systems, you can easily simulate high end circuits with ease. There is constant wifi connectivity in main building and library. Library is very well maintained with all books and papers you need with space to study there as well. Hostels on the other hand really need serious maintainance. Acedemics is good overall, the professors and lab assistants are pretty knowledgeable and help you accordingly. I can't comment on other departments but the curriculum of our department is not according to current industry standards, but if you are willing enough to learn there are seniors who can guide you with different topics and domains as well as the college also conducts seminars where you can have more exposure. Assignements and class tests depends upon the respective professor, if they wish to conduct or not. You can have good exposure about industry trends if you participate in coding club(CODEIIEST) and other events. The only thing I wish is they should start offering Minor degrees for other courses as in IITs.

Placements are decent overall. 2024 is rough in placements but 2023 had many good offers. The highest for our department was somewhere 36lpa and lowest being 4-5 lpa. There are ample of companies that visit every year. Several companies like PWC, Accenture and TCS conduct mass hiring. Many of the software companies allows students from other branches to sit for assessments. In 2023 around 80% from our department were placed and many also secured admissions in foreign universities. The procedure is very straighforward, every notification comes on the SuperSet app, companies take online or offline Assessment tests and accordingly interviews. The placement cell helps students and recruiters for smooth onboarding and is very supportive.

The academics fees per semester is approx 70000 and for hostel and mess separate charges are generated on HMS portal. Mess charges can vary hostel to hostel. Food quality is pretty average but you'll adjust overtime. The current policy for 1st, 2nd and 3rd years is 4 students per room and for 4th year single occupancy. It is sometimes hard to adjust but you'll sure learn and make decent memories with friends all around.

Campus life is very fulfilling. There is plenty of space to walk around. There is one market where you can have almost everything you wish. Commuting is easy as well, there are buses going every 10 minutes of so to kolkata and howrah from there you can go anywhere you wish. All departments host their fests time to time to keep everyone engaged. Students from different corner of india come here, you'll make great friends and memories here. Some hostels have their separate small fields where you can play badminton and volleyball at night. There is one swimming pool which started few months ago, there is one time fee for admission.
