Jadavpur University is organising a national seminar on Nonlinear and Complex Phenomena on November 29, 2024.
Jadavpur University is hosting the 9th Asian NIR Symposium, "NIR-Sight" from December 8-10, 2024.
The college infrastructure is up to the standard and the students are provided with a conducive learning atmosphere. Classrooms are large and properly placed in the structure, and the library, which contains various sources of books and journals, is adequately provided. The campus is clean and green, and the students are able to enjoy the surroundings.
The curriculum is upgraded according to the needs of the industry to make sure that the graduates are relevant in the job market. The competence and level of the faculty is commendable which translates to quality delivery of classes.
The college also provides workshops on the concepts of entrepreneurship and creativity and encourages students to set-up their own ventures. I really appreciate that from my college for working and understanding.
My college has all the necessary infrastucture , facilities and equipments for the students to study in our campus It has all smart clsses , seminar halls , libraries , sports centres and hostels and wifi also.
I am studying BE in Mechanical Engineering . And the quality of teaching is the best in here because the teachers are very helpful . The curriculum is updated and incklludes all the recent developments in the field.
The quality of the placements is good . 80 to 90 % students got placements in MNCs and the highest packages as far as i know is 20 to 30 LPA is the student is decipined and hard working .The process of placement is easy and pleasant.
The college infrastructure of Jadavpur University is so vast and not to notch that it facilitates multiple building sectors with play grounds, lakes, beautiful campus view, seminar Halls and much more.
The academic curriculum which are being provided by Jadavpur University is top notch and it facilitates students to grow and exceed in every aspect of life. The academic backs up students to learn most of the fields.
The placements in Jadavpur University is so good that it makes people speechless as it provides multiple drives for students to Crack any interview, big companies coming from all over the world and highly paid packages.
The college has a very good and well maintained infrastructure with a vast campus. The classes are very good with all kind of modern teaching equipments. The college has very good and well maintained auditorium.
The academic structure is excellent and helps us to do our study in a very productive way. The professors are great and they help to do our studies in a very efficient way . The also conduct doubt clearing sessions to help us clear our doubts.
The college donot have a placement cell . The students here somoy get placement from the college. They have 2 options , either going for higher studies or apply for off campus jobs. Given the way the college teaches us, it is not too much difficult to get off campus jobs.
Modern laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment (pharmaceutical technology, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry) Well-stocked library with e-journals and online resources,Spacious classrooms with multimedia facilities.
Experienced faculty with industry expertise Well-structured curriculum aligned with pharmaceutical industry needs Regular guest lectures from industry professionals Research-oriented environment with opportunities for projects and publications Strong focus on practical training and clinical exposure
Top notch placement with outstanding recruitment. The college's placement cell showed commendable efforts in securing quality job opportunities. With minor improvements, it can become a benchmark for B. Pharm placements.
The infrastructure could be maintained better The classrooms should be better equipped and made into smart classrooms. The benches could be made better for extended use. Overall infrastructure improvement is required.
Academics are overall good However it would be better to go for a more modern approach than dreary class lectures. Faculty should focus on the overall development of the class and not just a few selected students of their choice.
Placements are good. Again, it should be made impartial to provide equal opportunity for all the students. Faculty should be more active in helping students then just focusing on a few selected students of their choice
Yes, it is value for money. The fees is less as compared to other colleges
Campus life could be improved by being less politic and more academic, on both the faculty and the students behalf.
Nil
College infrastructure is not upto mark as compared to central universities like IITs , NITs etc. Being a state run public university, it lacks funding to improve their infrastructure development but we call it average. There are sufficient lab equipments and facilities which helps the students to understand practical things. The living spaces are clean and hygienic, there are numerous dustbin in the campus which are provided solely that the campus must be garbage free.
Currently, I am studying Civil Enginnering at Jadavpur University (2nd year). The way of teaching is also good there are daily class tutorials which provide better understanding of the subject. Our Civil Enginnering curriculum is updated and even HOD of Civil Engineering Department, IIT Bombay (Ju Alumni) also shared that the curriculum is better than most enginnering college in India. The design part is quite popular in North India. JU design course in Civil engineering is better than most IITs design course in Civil Engineering.
Placements is better than most colleges in India. Our department has 97% placement of student placed in different roles. The highest salary offered as Data Analyst role in IDFC Bank (23 Lpa) and basically the students have to learn Python, JavaScript and Data Analytics. Average salary is 7.8 Lpa. The placement process is very easy there are 3 Placement Coordinators in each dept and that PoC have the responsibility placed his batchmates in respective companies. And our college is very supportive, it encourages us to compete in these modern world and also provide to reaserch under professor.
Value for money is the best in these entire country as it has Rs 9600 fees for 4 years (Rs 2400 per year) Bachelor in Engineering(B.E) and you get placed with package 10 Lpa (if you are good) the Return of Investment is 100 times which is much higher than all IITs, NITs and BITs. My family has no income and for which getting into these college helped me a lot. (it's money worth) It has different scholarships programme so that no student can discontinue his /her studies due to financial crises .
Our college best features are as follow 1. Football playground, Cricket ground, Basket ball ground 2. NCC camp 3. Amenities centre 4. Canteens (cheaper than outside stores ) 5. No attendance rule Worst part 1. Poor Infrastructure 2. Clubs are funded by students (not by college authorities) Student can also join in different clubs like 1. Mechatronics club(Robotics and Car manufacturing enthusiasts) 2. FinClub (Finance and Traders ) 3. Aerospace club (for solving flight problems) 4. Mountaineering Club ( hiking ) 5. Photographic Club 6. E- Cell club ( one of the best clubs which helps the student to develop their personality ) 7. IEEE (Another special club like E-Cell) and so on.... The bonding between students, teachers and support staff is very good. All of them helped each other and support itself in different situation. Our college is surrounded by 5 gates in total and in each gate there are 5 guards and our campus is surrounded by railway station, bus stand. It can handle emergency situation. As I have told you earlier the bond between student and college staff is so good that there is no problem to handle any type of emergency.
If you could not get IITs or NITs then it's the best college for you.
We have great infrastructure in both of the campuses of our college. We have free Wi-Fi connections in both of our campuses. Our college library is full of ac and is fully suitable for studies (true for both campuses). We have separate rooms for indoor games (Carrom, Table-Tennis). We have canteens in both of our campuses, the food quality is good. We have volleyball court. We have big ground in both of the campuses, where one can play football, cricket or any other outdoor games according to their liking.
Our professors are enough knowledgeable. But their teaching skills should be improved to some extent. Some department has well equipped lab, but some has to improve a bit in near future. If someone wants to pursue higher degree in the core subject in future, they will get the sufficient knowledge and guidance from our professors. Our academic knowledge will also help us to make ourselves job ready and industry relevant.
In this matter, our college has bit advantage compared to other institutions. Our college seniors are well placed in big companies, so the likelihood of big placement is very much possible due to those connections. Our professors also have good connections, which will be very beneficial in this matter. Most of our students get placed of most of the departments, those who are not placed, opt for higher studies.
Our college provides our whole engineering course of 4 years in just 5210 Rs. This is not possible in any other college of whole India. Providing such course in such cheap rate, so it is affordable for all, so I am getting my money's worth, because after the completion of our course placement is almost guaranteed due to the connections of our placed seniors and professors and job ready industry relevant curriculum.
Our campus life is good, one can engage in many activities which will help to shape one's character, managing skills, communication skills. We have freshers every year in our college, which will get organized by 2nd year students. Also, we have other cultural events, we have gaming events also, which will give us good exposure of various taste.
Infrastructure is not that brilliant but all the basic requirements are fulfilled here. As fees is very low here only about 12K of the whole course, the infrastructure does not matter that much. Seminar rooms and libraries are however air conditioned.
Academics are top notch here. All teachers are high;y qualified and well versed in the subject they are teaching. Curriculum is absolutely updated to the present date. But still it will not make you job ready as you also have to put extra effort.
Placement is amazing here. Every year about 90%+ students gets placed in many companies. Highest on campus offer for the last year was 60 LPA. Average CTC of branches like CSE,IT generally is around 19-21 LPA. While branches like Metallurgy have average of 9 LPA.
Best ROI engineering college of India
Campus life is amazing. We have fests almost the whole year from freshers party to cultural fest to tech fest. We have many clubs like coding, drama, photography, debate, finance, E-Cell etc.
The infrastructure in the Department of Printing Technology is poor compared to the other branches of Jadavpur University. Most of the lab equipments are faulty and outdated owing to the outdated nature of the courses taught in this branch.
Some professors are good but some are extremely bad. Most professors do not have any significant research contribution.Peers are not very good since all the low rankers in WBJEE (5000+) take admission in this department to get the Jadavpur University tag.The academic pressure is very less so students who want to enjoy the JU tag and get a share in the JU placement process (without any special opportunities in this specific department) may join. Also, preparation of government exams and CAT is easier due to minimal academic pressure.
The average package is decent, around 5-6 lakhs per annum(very proportional to the WBJEE rank students get admission with). On average,80% of students get placed. In 2022,the average package was 10.8 lakhs per annum but that data is an outlier because 2022 was a year for overhiring.Companies like ZS Associates,Deloitte,ABP Group,Times of India,Protiviti,Bridgei2i.etc generally hire from this department.A hardworking student having cimcumstancial smartness may bag a 10 lpa+ package with a stroke of luck. Please do not expect a higher package than 14 lpa because you just wouldn't get it on campus if you are from this department.
If you want to get a cheap Bachelor in Engineeering degree with lots of time for self study and decent placements, then you can opt for this. Its still better than the private colleges and Tier-3 government colleges that you get at this rank range. The total fees is around 11k for four years and you can expect a 50 times ROI.
The Printing Engineering department is located in the Salt Lake campus. This campus houses a full length cricket ground but you won't be able to play in it most of the time because its leased to the Cricket Association of Bengal. There is a football ground next to it which is open to all and you can have a nice game out there.Apart from that, nothing is very good. The freshers party known as CIIPPUS is all about a bunch of self obsessed seniors who mostly belong to the hostel. You would not get one tenth of the exposure and environment that you would have got in the Jadavpur(main) campus of Jadavpur University.
I recommend Jadavpur University but not Printing Engineering.Opting for Printing Engineering may turn out to be the worst decision of your life. You will be looked down upon in your own University because you would be studying in a "lower branch" and rightfully so.Printing Engineering department of Jadavpur University has all the qualities of being the lowest branch of this otherwise wonderful university.

The bsc in mathematics at Jadavpur University is a 4 year Undergraduate course.
Jadavpur University is one of the best engineering colleges in west bengal better than nits.It has 16 Departments in the Engineering Department (FET).Rank wise, A rank within 200 for CSE, within 500 for ETCE or IT, within 1000 for Electrical or IEE is enough to get admission here for general category candidates.
a WBJEE rank of less than 2000 is enough to get you into JU.being from a sc category you must get advantage of reservation quota and it is likely that you may get core branch.lets hope for the best.
Best of luck with your future endeavors!
