About Sathyabama University
Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (Deemed to be University) was established in 1987 by Dr. Jeppiaar. The institution was formerly known as Sathyabama Engineering College. However, later it was renamed as Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology. The college offers courses in disciplines like engineering, science, technology and education. Some of the courses offered include BE, B.Tech, B.Des, B.Arch, BSc., BBA, BA, B.Com, D.Pharma, Nursing, MA, MSc., M.Tech, MBA, etc. The institute offers admission to undergraduate programmes through an institute level entrance exam - Sathyabama All India Entrance Examination (SAEEE), while admission to PG programmes is offered based on the scores in the qualifying examinations.

Sathyabama University is located in Rajiv Gandhi Salai, OMR Road, Chennai. The nearest airport to Sathyabama University is the Kamaraj International Airport which is located 21 kms away from the institute. Students can hire a taxi from there and reach the campus in approximately 40 mins. CMBT Bus Terminal is the nearest one from the institute campus and students can reach the institute by boarding a bus from there which would take around 60 mins. Other bus routes from Adyar and T.Nagar are also available. Students coming from Old Mahabalipuram Road and East Coast Road can take a shared auto to reach the campus.

Anti Human Trafficking Club- This club aims to spread awareness about the risks and consequences of human trafficking. Various awareness programmes are conducted to educate students about using their rights against any wrongs done to them.
Community Development Club- The main objective of this Club is to develop a sense of social service among the young generation. Various programmes are conducted by the members of this club to work for the social service of the society.
ECO Club- The main objective of this Club is to spread awareness about environmental issues around us and how to preserve it. Various awareness programmes are conducted through films, audio, advertisements, hoarding, visual and print, seminars, workshops, etc. to teach students about the issues of the environment.
Encore Club- This Club has been formed with the objective of providing more information and ideas to students related to the field of mechanical engineering.
Mathematics Club- This main objective of this Club is to motivate the students to develop their interest in the field of Mathematics. Students of this club participate in different events and activities where they get to develop their mathematical skills and knowledge.
Music Club- The members of Music Club are responsible for conducting and participating in different musical events and programmes happening inside the institute. Students here learn and listen to different forms of music including classical, blues, jazz, Bollywood etc to introduce themselves to different genres of music.
Science Club- This Club consists of members where they perform projects and research works related to science. Science club provides a platform to students where they study books and topics to learn and know more about advancing science.
Auto Club- This Club aims to provide knowledge of automobiles to students. Students who are interested in knowing more about automobiles are members of this club.
Debate Club- This Club encourages students to improve their debating and speaking skills. Students get to develop self-confidence and eliminate stage fear by engaging themselves in different activities and events.
Entrepreneurship Development Club- This club motivates the students to develop their skills in entrepreneurship. Members of this club share ideas and tricks to excel in today’s world of competition.
Dr. Kalam Club- This club encourages the students to develop an interest in knowing more about software and technology. Students interested to know more about Engineering and Technology, software tools etc are members of this club.
Microsoft Club- The club members discuss ideas to know more about advancing technology. Students also take part in projects and events to develop and learn new skills.
Robotics Club- The main objective of the Robotics Club is to encourage students to learn more about robotics. Students of the club conduct and participate in activities and workshops related to robotics, mechanical design etc. Students here learn about the working pattern of robots so that they make their bot.
Tamil Club- This Club aims to teach the students about the importance of Tamil Literature.
Innovation Club- The members of this Club aims to understand and develop new products by implementing their ideas and knowledge into it. Students of this club gather information by engaging themselves in discussions among each other.
Sathyabama Band- Sathyabama Band is a band which is for all the students who possess musical knowledge. The aim of this band is to develop the musical skills of students by conducting and engaging them in group rehearsals and performances.
NSS- National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Youth Programme which is established under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Students have also conducted various programmes under this scheme including international yoga day, blood donation, leprosy campaign, Swachh Bharat, literary campaign, mass cleaning, mass tree plantation, road traffic awareness, sand sculpturing, polio vaccine, disaster management, PFMS training etc. to spread awareness among the common people.
Industry Institute Interaction Cell- This cell was established in 2014 with the objective of providing more knowledge about the industry and technology. Students are prepared to meet industry expectations by providing them with the latest technologies.
Advisory Bureau for Higher Studies- The Advisory Bureau supports the overall development of students by conducting seminars and providing other foreign language classes such as German, Japanese and French. The Advisory Bureau also provides information to students for their professional growth.

Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai offers admission to B.Tech/B.E/B/.Arch/B.Des Programmes and PG programmes to the students. Admission to B.Tech/B.E/B/.Arch/B.Des Programmes is offered by SIST Chennai on the basis of SAEEE entrance test conducted by the University. For admission to B.Arch, candidates should have qualified the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). It is mandatory to participate in the counselling process conducted by Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai for admission to the undergraduate courses. Admission to all the PG courses of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai is based on the merit of the qualifying exam. For B.Tech/B.E/B/.Arch/B.Des Programmes-
Candidates interested in taking admission to UG programmes, must appear and qualify the SAEEE entrance test conducted by the University.
Candidates seeking admission to B.Arch programmes, must appear and qualify NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture).
Based on the qualifying marks scored by candidates in the entrance test, they can register themselves for the counselling procedure conducted by Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology.

Sathyabama University Facilities
The institute provides various facilities and amenities to students and faculty which include library, hostel, fitness centre, medical & sports facility etc. Detailed description on the facilities provided is mentioned below.
Library- The library has a huge collection of books providing all necessary information to students. The library timings are from 8.00 A.M. to 10.00 P.M which is accessible to all the students. The library also has a presentation hall and reading lounges available. The library is also provided with other facilities including wi-fi, e-learning facilities, magazines, thesis, print journals, back volumes, autobiographies etc.
Hostel- Sathyabama University has 5 hostels for boys and 5 hostels for girls which are well equipped with facilities such as laundry, fitness centre, computer centre, reading space and mess hall. Movies are also screened for hostel students on holidays to make the hostel life of students pleasant and comfortable.
Fitness Centre- Fitness centres are available for boys and girls near the hostels help students maintain a fit life. Yoga sessions are also conducted for students.
Medical Facility- Medical facilities are available for hostellers 24x7. Medical officers are present to provide any medical help to the students and staff in case of any emergency. Students who need advance treatment are provided with medical insurance by Sathyabama General Hospital.
Sports Facility- Students are given facilities for playing indoor and outdoor games like Hockey, Football, Cricket, Tennis, Badminton, Handball, Table Tennis, Ball Badminton, Kho Kho, Kabaddi, Throwball, Chess, Carrom, Taekwondo, Cricket, Squash And Basketball.
Conference Hall- The Conference halls are provided for conducting guest lectures symposiums, seminars, placement training programs, etc.
Mess- The Mess Hall has a capacity to accommodate 2000 members at a time. The mess also provides lunch and breakfast facilities to students and staff. The institute also provides lunch, tea and snacks everyday to students and staff.
Transportation- The institute has more than 100 buses which are available for students and staff for their easy commutation. There are certain timings for all the buses reaching and leaving the campus. All the buses reach the campus before 7.40 A.M and leave the campus at 5 P.M so that all the students and staff can reach home safely.
Internet- The institute provides internet facility with a speed of 500 Mbps to provide students with high speed internet so that they can seek any information or help on the internet. The internet and wifi facilities are provided inside the hostels and central library.
Student Counselling and Psychological Support Centre- This centre was established to provide counselling to students and staff suffering from distress regarding their personal or professional life. The centre has members of trained counsellors who provide necessary guidance to students and help them overcome their stress. All the counselling sessions conducted are kept confidential.
Skill Development Centre- The main objective of SDC is to improve the skills of students by conducting various skill oriented programs like PCB Design, Internet of Things, Embedded Programming, Data Acquisition, Catia Programming courses in association with National Skill Training Institute and Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.

Candidates who have completed their BE/BTech degree with a valid score in GATE are eligible for ME/MTech degree course. Candidates who have completed a 5-year program in Science or Applied Sciences resulting in the award of a Master of Science degree are also eligible for Master of Engineering course.

Hope you're doing well.
Satyabhama university offers a four year full time undergraduate programme in computer sciences called BE(bachelor of engineering).
Fees : 1 lakh approximately.
Faculty :Almost all professors in CSE are phD holders or are pursuing it. They are really helpful and knowledgeable.
Placements : The placement rate was around 85 percent last year. Highest package was around 41 lakhs per annum and lowest package was around 2.5 lakhs per annum. TCS, wipro, tech mahindra and many other reputed companies recruited students.
