VIT Chennai Reviews on Infrastructure, Campus, Placement, Facilities & Faculty

The campus started in 2010 and it has developed a lot since 12 years. The campus is 195 acre with 4 hostel (3 men's and 1 girls block) 3 Academic block vmart, gazebo and many more. Wifi works 18 hours with good speed. We have football ground cricket, lawn tennis, badminton, basketball grounds. We have 3 floored well infrastructured library. Mess food is fine and hygiene and every block mess handled by two different caterers.

I am studying in Computer science Engineering specialization cyber physical system. Modern curriculum is been followed by all our faculty and everything is updated well explained with practical knowledge. Yes absolutely the study makes us job ready. The faculty are helpful understanding and nice by nature.

Placement in VIT is 100 percent. But the thing that matter is weather u getting core companies or not. Mostly company comes to VIT with 6 to 20 LPA in VIT and competition for getting job is fierce. And different branches have there different packages like electric and communication are if 2 LPs to 10 lpa and it goes on to all the branches. There are almost 1000 aspiring students for a company that will take 2 to 3 students so everything matters on probability.

My course cost per year is around 3 lakhs and it's absolutely worth it. The way they teach with all practical knowledge and the efforts they make with us to achieve the success is absolutely great and worth. And finally all depends on our and your hardwork which leads to success and value of money as Return of investment.

Good campus life with frndly people surrounding with lots of greenary tress and plants. Gazebo north square, Gymkhana, Domino's makes more great to our campus life as we all students are foodys. We have play grounds we have clubs with many different activities like tresure hunts and all. Clock court is best place for get together with ur mates and frnds.

Good infrastructure in the college. Nice laboratories with all modern equipments. Lots of new hostels and academic blocks are under construction presently which will improve overall infrastructure facilities further.

All faculties are PhD holders and most are thorough with their subject knowledge. Although research and project opportunities could be better imo. Definitely one of best colleges in India in terms of academics atleast.

I heard from seniors that placements are pretty good with average package of 7-8 Lpa. Offers are divided into 3 types- regular, dream and super dream offer with <6lpa, 6-10lpa and >10lpa respectively.

There are various scholarship categories in VIT. Category 1 and 2 are definitely worth the money. The other categories can be taken if u want a particular branch only during councelling. Otherwise college is very good.

Clean classrooms and hostels. Quality complaints are taken seriously. Numerous facilities available for sports and skill enhancement. Wifi limit is high (100gb per month) but speeds require improvement (4 Mbps).

Curriculum is decent but a few subjects require fine tuning in terms of the project component inclusion and exclusion. Practical skills and aptitude taught as well. Currently pursuing AI and ML specialization, course is decent but requires tuning. We are the first batch however.

Regular emails regarding opportunities, interviews, hackathons, competitions, etc. Plenty of chances to get placed. Placement are good, generally 4-5 lacs minimum and 8+ lacs for dream offers. Students can attend interviews and obtain experience.

Multiple categories available based on VITEEE rank. Hostel and mess fees are nominal.

Campus is rich, vibrant with multiple facilities, such as gym, swimming pool, basketball court, football fields, etc. Lots of places to hangout, teachers are approachable, and anti ragging measures in ppace

infrastructure, faculty and other guidance is really very good and wifi, spaces they are very amazing, labs and sports activities are well and food is also very good in quality and it's hygienic as well.

exposure is maximum which helps a lot, I'm currently studying electronics and communication and the quality is pretty well, faculties really take an effort and our curriculum gets updated on frequent time intervals.

placement office and the rate of placement is pretty nice and vellore and Chennai sit for placements together, the highest package is 48+lpa and even the average students gets a package of 15+lpa and it's worth it

yeah sure I'm getting my money's worth by looking at the effort which university is taking in our development it is really worth it and by applying for internships it's the cherry on top and it's very good.

it is amazing, sports, gym, swimming area everything is well settled and even food locations are really good and yes the location is safe and it sure can handle many emergencies no doubt in that and teachers are very supportive.

nothing in specific but yes one must should really consider in coming to this college and never miss this golden opportunity cause towards the end it'll be worth all the money and effort one will be giving.

College provide all types of books in library,valuable courses. Everything is present in campus. All types of equipments that are required for experiments are also provided. Hostel is clean and mess food is also heigenic. Free Wifi is provided in hostel.

I am currently pursuing B.Tech in Electronics and Computer Engineering in VIT, Chennai. College staff is too good. Curriculum is also updated abd university also focuses on extra co-curricular activities and on practical knowledge.

Highest package offered was of 41lpa and avg package was 7.8 lpa for last year. This year's placement process is in progress. 86% of students were placed talking about all branches. Many students got internship in 2nd year and pre placement offers too.

Fee for 1st category is fine but I think fee from 2nd category is too high.

Teaching staff really support us. Everything that we need in daily life and stationary products are available in 200 acre campus. Talking on safety, no any student is permitted to go out of campus without proctor's permission. You are more safe than you home.

Building are not enough, no resto our food shops are present , ai powerd classroom, swimming pol not there less number of footbal field not good Night mess canteen are not there so starving at night....

Teachers are bad dont Teachnwell although some are good and have a good library Bad teachers. Curriculum is outdated but that is for all the colleges as curriculum is decided by govt of India itself so not a fault of vit

Hasn't experience yet but good as heard from senior All is abt placement is learning ds and algo however the placement is good or not depend on personal rather college even a tier 3 college student can crack google all isindovisual effort

Yeah good 1.5 lakh per year fees for acedemics in category 1 Yeah fees is less for my category so i am happy how ever the mess fees are high also ac room fees are high but it's fine as a hostelbhitbhave bad wardens

Bad college life very strict. No campus life not allowed to go out waste of campus inside also nothing is there but yehre arr many more clubs and activities so can enjoy that

Facilities are provided and education, exposure is given priority, only got to stay about a year in campus and was more than happy with the campus life and infrastructure.If one is looking for nice labs and research place,this can be a good choice.

Very strong,we have embedded lab and project components helping us to learn and also practically implement things,relative grading is in place.Grades will be given on how much you have scored relative to the class.

I have not been through the placement season yet but from what I have heard from my seniors is they are very good and we get plenty of opportunities.Cse/it people get the plenty and opportunities and also a lot depends on how good your coding skills and cgpa is.

Definitely if you are able to afford the fee

The college campus has got really great infrastructure ranging from smart boards in classroom, well equipped library, sports centres, and amazing hostels. There is 24×7 WiFi availability. Mostly South Indian foods like Dosa, Idli are served but they are nevertheless delicious. Proper hygiene is also maintained.

I am a B tech Computer Science and Engineering student at this Institute. I have been here since the last 2 years and it has been an amazing journey so far. In this short I have developed a close bond with my professors. The teaching quality is extremely good and an updated is followed. Proper emphasis on application is given while teaching a topic.

The quality of placements is pretty amazing. This year almost 92 percent students got placements with the average salary being ₹4,80000 per annum. The highest salary offered was ₹6000000 per annum. Interestingly 40 percent students got placed at tech giants like Google, Facebook etc. and 25 percent of them were women.

The campus is green, spacious and sufficiently big. In addition to two academic buildings, the administration has begun work on another. The classrooms are big, ventilated and spacious with whiteboards, desks with space to keep books, and a projector. The labs are well-equipped with all required machinery and equipment. A single lab has resources for about 60 students and all labs come up with whiteboards and projectors. The softwares too are regularly updated. Hostels are neat and hygienic.

I am pursuing B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The course is regularly updated to keep with the trends- we have specializations in Machine Learning, Internet of Things etc. The electronics labs have state-of-the-art equipment and cater to a student's well-rounded development. However, the set of teachers isn't as good as expected. While there are professors who ensure that their students are gaining knowledge, there are also a select few who don't necessarily teach well.

VIT Chennai has 100% placements. All students who apply for a job, end up getting one. With companies like Amazon, MathWorks, PayPal, Microsoft and General Electric, VIT boasts of great quality placements. There are super dream offers, where pay packages are over 50 lakhs PA, dream offers where they cross 30 lakhs and normal pay packages where an average student is offered 10 Lakhs per annum. The administration takes great effort in ensuring all of its students are well-placed, and is supportive

Depending on your rank in the admission test, you are eligible for a select category. I am a first category student, and pay up to 1,96,000 INR per annum. Yes, the fees seem expensive, but compared to any other private institution, VIT offers decent value-for-money. The fees we pay ensure that the hostels, administrative buildings and most importantly, academic buildings boast high quality.

The college is in the outskirts of Chennai, hence, travelling to places within the city becomes tough. However, life on campus is simply put, an incredible experience. There are over 80 clubs to be a part of on campus, ranging from literature and movies to robotics and automation, clubs are an integral part of campus life. The sports amenities are wonderful and our cricket team is a jewel. The campus fest, Vibrance, is looked forward to the entire year. Restaurants like Domino's too are there!

In my two years of college, I have enjoyed almost every second. I wish the pandemic hadn't occurred. Looking forward to returning to campus!

We have excellent college amenities .Very well developed and spacious infrastructure .Classrooms are wide enough to accommodate large number of students and well designed labs for each department with all the required equipments required for making of any projects or research activities. We have vast sports area dedicated to all the sports. Hostels are well maintained and hygienic. Food is served by two different caters where they provide Veg ,Non-Veg and Special meals.

I am pursuing B.Tech in ECE as I have passion in electronics field. The quality of teaching is good ,all teachers have done Doctorate degree in their field of specialization. Yes we have a updated curriculum with al the recent developments included in it. What we study is to gain knowledge in our field of passion ,but we need to have hands on experience to be job ready. We have to keep implementing what we study into some useful projects which serves the needs of the world.

A college is always judged on the basis of the placements ,that every student secures a job. I am yet to get graduated but we have all elite companies coming for placements .A good range of packages are offered by the companies and it is mostly bagged by the CSE students .On the other hand ,other branches also have a decent average package offered. I have heard good reviews from my seniors. But the new normal ,virtual placements is a new experience for everyone. Chennai is a hub for automobiles.

The fees are divided into five categories ,our rank in VITEE decides which category will be available for us. It is little expensive from the third category. Yes I feel it is worth the money ,because nowadays every college charges very high amount for the fees. But even during the pandemic full fees were charged there was no reduction ,only relaxation was provided that the money can be given in two installments.

Overall I guess I had stayed there for about 7 months and then we had lockdown. My experience in the time I spent there was splendid. I had great fun with my friends .We have long walking paths filled with greenery ,where we can spend some time calmly. Many clubs are present where students can enroll themselves if interested. We had marvelous fests like TechnoVit and Vibrance .Many events keep happening to keep ourselves engaged. Even during online teaching many activities were conducted .

Overall VIT is a good campus which has a good edge than other colleges in terms of placements. Chennai campus specially is very convenient location to students who come from other states, as airport and the railway station is very nearby. Beaches are great place to have fun. Hostel rules and regulations are little strict but for a good cause. We are are surrounded by IIT Madras and IIIT Kancheepuram which can be a great advantage for interactions and workshops.
